| Abstract: | Chin Sheng-tan gave a commentary on The Hsi-hsiang using his own rhetoric tactics. He regarded Ying-ying Cui the ideal of a perfect young lady,not only beautiful but also well-bred and well-educated. In order to preserve such an image of Ying-ying throughout the play, Chin Sheng-tan took the trouble to tempering the text. Besides, he added to some comments in the text to emphasize his ideas. |
