Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of Nuodikang capsule on learning, memory and activities of AchE and ChAT in hippocampus tissue of Alzheimer's disease (AD) animal model. Methods 32 rats were randomly divided into four groups:model group, Aricept Tablets group, Noodikang capsule group and normal group. The amyloid β1-40 was injected into the bilateral hlppocampus to form AD model in rats, Morris water maze testing system was adopted to observe the changes of rats'. The appearance of AD rats hippocampal neurons were observed by HE staining. The activities of AchE and ChAT were detected by immunohistochemisty. The changes of AchE and ChAT mRNA were detected by RT-PCR. Results The escape latency of the place navigation in Aricept Tablets group, Nuodikang capsule group and normal group were significantly shorler than which in the model group( P 〈 0. 05 ). The average optical density of positive Ache cells significantly reduced. Compared to model group( P 〈 0.05 ), the average optical density of positive ChAT cells significantly increased in the other three groups. The level of AchE mRNA significantly reduced. Compared with model group( P 〈 0.05 ), the level of ChAT mRNA significantly increased in the other three groups. Conclusion Nuodikang capsule can improve the ability of learning and memory in AD rats. The mechanism maybe is related to CHAT, AchE.
