MPEG-4中静止图像编码方法的探索与研究

摘    要:在静止图像编码方法中,最著名且应用最广泛的就算是JPEG了,JPEG中所用到的主要技术就是离散余弦变换(DCT)和Huffman熵编码;在最新的视频图像压缩标准MPEG-4中,对于静止图像和纹理的编码,都放弃了DCT变换而代之以离散小波变换(DWT).JPEG2000中也同样的以DWT取代了DCT.本文比较JPEG和MPEG-4所分别编码的图像,并具体说明MPEG-4中静止图像的编码过程.最后得出DWT变换相对于DCT变换的优势结论.

Abstract:Of coding methods about still image,JPEG is widely used and has had a good effect,in which the main technologies is DCT transform and Huffman entropy coding.But in latest international video compression standard such as MPEG-4 and JPEG2000,DCT transform is replaced by DWT transform.In this paper,firstly we'll compare DWT's advantage with DCT,then we'll show the course of still image coding in MPEG-4,finally we'll receive conclusion by comparing the images coded by JPEG and MPEG-4.
