深海锰结核的描述方法及术语

摘    要:从生物岩的角度提出深海锰结核(锰质核形石)的描述方法及所用术语。从宏观到微观应按(1)核心和包壳,(2)壳层和叠层石礁体,(3)叠层石建造体和柱体,(4)纹层以及(5)生物组构5个层次进行描述。文献中关于锰结核的同心环带结构、同心球粒状构造、鲕状构造、斑杂构造实际上是叠层石柱体的不同切面。作者提出,锰质叠层石中的纹层疏密相间,是微生物周期性生长而形成的。其中亮层和暗层的元素成分基本一致,主要由铁锰质矿物所组成。

Abstract:The method and terminology for describing pelagic manganese nodules (oncolites) have been suggested based on their biogenic origin. The nodules (oncolites) should be described in the following five aspects: (1) core and coatings, (2) coating strata and stromatolite reef, (3) stromatolite construction and coloums, (4) laminae and (5) biofabrics from macro to microscale. The concentric banded texture, concentric spherulitic, colitic and mottled structures reported in literature are actually different sections of the stromatolite columns. It has been also suggested that the laminae in manganese stromatolite are similar to the annual rings of trees with alternated dense and loose laminae, and formed as a resuit of periodic growth of the uitra microbes. The chemical compositions of the bright and dark laminae are roughly identical. Both of them are composed of iron manganese minerals.
