理工类大学生英语阅读中附带性词汇习得的实证研究

摘    要:试图通过实证研究的方式,考查阅读当中的附带性词汇习得现象。98名理工科学生参加了实验,包括阅读和三次词汇测试。结果表明:在以理解内容和获取信息为主要目的的阅读活动中有显著的附带性词汇习得发生,这对于阅读和词汇的教与学都具有重要的启示意义。

An Empirical Study of Incidental Vocabulary Acquisition in English Reading for Science and Engineering Majors

Abstract:This paper aims to investigate the incidental vocabulary acquisition in English reading through an empirical research.Ninety-eight students majoring in science and engineering have participated in the study,including one reading session and three vocabulary tests.The results indicate that significant incidental vocabulary acquisition does occur while reading for content.This can provide a helpful insight into reading activity and facilitate the teaching and learning of vocabulary.
