In the view of environmental hydrology,the paper analysis the effects thatphysical conditions in this catchment basin have made on the formation of hydr-ologic characteristics in Lake Dong Ting.It also discusses the existence of fourriver mouthes which have played a determined role on the evolution of the lake,meanwhile,water and flown sand from the four river mouthes companied withhuman activities are the main reasons for baddening the ecologic environment ofthis region.In the end,the paper puts forward the ideas of syntheticly develop-ing the lake.
