An Input-OutPut Model for Oil Piping

This paper presents an input-output model for a special trans-portation enterprise,oil piping enterprises.It is first time in China for the input-output approach to this transportation industry. First,distinguish-ing oil piping enterprise from other ones by the productive characters,the methodology of model building and the framework of this input-output model are outlined, such as the economic meanings of and the relation- ships between input-output data. Then,concerned the criteria of sector division,in this model the oil transport spots or stations are classified as sectors,also the definition of the direct and total transport coefficient are given out. Finally, the application of this model,such as the calculation of cost and consumption of oil piping production,the turnover volume and efficiency of oil piping are suggested.It is anticipated that this model will be helpful for oil pipeline management in the index improvement-to de-crease consumption and enhance efficiency-at the oil transport stations or spots.
