Abstract:The LD50 determination of the venom from a new pit-viper(Agkistrodon qinlingensis)by the simplified probility method (intraperitoneal injection in mice)is presented,and the envenomation symptoms are also reported. It is demonstrated that the toxicity is low and the venom contains at least the folowing principles: the proteinase, neurotoxin, hemorrhagic toxin, cardiotoxin and PHA2. While the neurotoxin is somewhat special compared with that of the others. This provides the venom utilization of A. qinlingensis and its snakebite prevention and cure with acute toxic evidence.
