陕西近代科技教育的萌芽和发展

本文系统地论述了陕西近代科技教育的发展及其历史地位.陕西近代科技教育的发展状况基本上和全国是同步的.早期的改良书院和维新运动中兴办的各种学堂,大都开设了自然科学和工程技术等课程,客观地传播了西方科学知识和民主思想.辛亥革命后各种专业学校和高等学校的创办,使近代科技教育得到进一步发展.陕西的留学教育虽然起步较晚,但也取得了一定成绩.总而言之,陕西近代科技教育的成效是显著的,培养了不少优秀人才,为陕西以及全国的经济文化建设做出了重要贡献.

THE RUDIMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION IN SHAANXI IN MODERN TIMES

In the paper,the author gives a systematic exposition of the developments of science and technology education and its function in Shaanxi in moderntimes.The education began at the same time as it did in the other parts of our country.Many kinds of subjects of natural science and engineering technology were studied in most of the schools which had been set up during the earlier periods of the school refo- rmation and the modernization movement,Thus,the knowledges of natural science and the thoughts of bourgeois democracy in western countries were objectively spread, All kinds of vocational schools,Colleges and universities were set up after the 10th Oct.Revolution in 1911.In Shaanxi,the students were sent studying abroad later than that in other provinces.The achievements of science and technology education in Shaanxi are great.A number of trainees made great contributions to the constru- ction of Shaanxi.
