张九龄是唐玄宗时期的贤相、名相,是一代文宗张说的后继者,执掌文坛于开元中后期。一生重视“以诗取士”的科举制度和提拔文人,形成盛唐诗的骨干,同时积极参加诗人唱和,推动盛唐诗的发展。张九龄是感怀山水诗的首创者,他用“熟参”和“妙悟”创作《感遏》诗,是推动盛唐诗发展的关键人物。

Zhang Jiuling: the Key Character Improving the Development of Poetry in High Tang Period

Zhang Jiuling was a virtuous and famous prime minister during Tang Xuanzong period. He was the Successor of Zhang Yue, the creator of literature and took charge of the literary circles from mid-term to later Kai Yuan period. He payed regard to the imperial examination system for selection of officials based on their poems and promoted the scholars. Thus he became the backbone of High Tang Poetry. Meanwhile he participated in responsing to poet actively and promoted the developing of poetry. Zhang Jiuling was the founder of the reflecting mountain and water poems. He was the key character who improved the development of poetry in high Tang Period.
