| 摘 要： | 霍桑在他的作品中传达了这样的一个信息:罪恶的处处存在是现实所在,人性是罪恶的,这就是他"原罪"思想的主题.这一思想的产生有其社会、宗教和家庭的背景.象征主义是他作品中烘托这一主题、阐释人性的重要表现手法.

| Abstract: | In his works Hawthorne reveals to the reader his ideas of"original sin" of human beings: Evils and sins are everywhere in reality; man is evil in nature. His ideas on human nature have their roots in the then society and religion with a family background. Symbolism is the technique of expression used by Hawthorne to develop themes and describe and analyze human nature in his works. |
