Decoration of disclinations by solidification-induced band texture and focal-conic texture for a low-molar-mass liquid crystal

Two decoration techniques, solidification-induced band texture decora tion and focal-conictexture decoration, have been established to exhibit the director field of disclinations in a low-molar-mass methacrylate liquid crystal. The disclinations with strength s = 1/2 and s = ±1 are observed by the two decor ation methods. For the solidification-induced band texture decoration, the molecular orientation is perpendicular to the direction of the band. While for focal- conictexture decoration, it has been proved by the results of IR dichroism that the direction of the director is parallel to the direction of the focal-conic. Therefore, the sketch map of the molecular director filed can be mapped according to the morphological pattern of the solidification-induced band textureor focal-conic texture.

Hidden depths: Halley, hell and other people

During the long eighteenth century, boundaries between theology and natural philosophy, between imaginary and factual travel narratives, between fiction and social commentary, were far more fluid than they are today. To explore these relationships, this paper links Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein—a book often hailed as the first science fiction novel—to two earlier works which are now less well known: Edmond Halley’s article about terrestrial magnetism, in which he suggested that God had created inhabited illuminated cavities inside the earth; and a satirical fantasy voyage written by the Danish author Ludvig Holberg, but published anonymously as Niels Klim’s journey to the underground and immediately translated into many languages. Attention is focussed on how the ambiguous presentation of these and other texts blurs any straightforward classification of genres. The aim of examining these writers together is not to search for direct mappings from one project to another, but instead to introduce Holberg’s unfamiliar yet important book and also to cast new light on Frankenstein, one of England’s most famous works of literature.

基于自适应Gabor小波包的超声心动图像纹理特征提取

在基于纹理的医学图像检索中，由于提取的图像特征向量过长，大大影响检索速度．为此，提出一种基于Gabor小波包的自适应纹理提取方法：以信号能量集中度作为自适应选取小波包的优化参数，建立反映图像内容的纹理特征向量以及空间信息结构码．这种方法有效降低了纹理特征向量的维数，显著提高了图像分析的效率．在基于内容的图像检索实验中，以两类典型的超声心动图像为研究对象，结果表明该方法能够达到95．1％的平均识别率．     

含向列液晶交联剂的液晶弹性体液晶性能

把向列液晶交联剂 4 (ω 烯丙酰氧基己氧基 )苯甲酸 2 叔丁基 1,4 二酚酯和胆甾液晶单体 4 烯丙氧基苯甲酸胆甾醇酯接枝到含氢硅氧烷链上 ,交联剂的质量分数由 0至 12 %,得到系列液晶弹性体P1～P7·通过热分析、偏光显微分析等手段研究了向列液晶交联剂对弹性体液晶性能的影响·结果表明 ,P1～P7都有液晶性能 ,均为胆甾液晶织构 ,系列液晶弹性体的tg 随交联剂在链中浓度增加而降低 ,ti 变化不大 ,具有较宽的液晶区间 ,在 182℃以上·交联剂质量分数为 2 %时 ,即从P4 开始弹性增加 ,当交联剂的质量分数大于 8%时 ,液晶相存在至热分解温度 ,所有液晶弹性体的热稳...     

一种基于纹理的图象相似性度量模型

关于图象间的相似性应用于图象数据库中图象的检索存取，作者提出了一种用于多纹理图象的图象相似性度量的模型；描述了该模型的定义和计算方法，给出了试验结果和分析了它的有效性．     

局部几何矩在图像处理中的应用

由几何矩引中出另一个概念——局部几何矩，根据其良好的性质，对它进行图像平滑、边缘检测和纹理分割方面的应用，均取得了较好的效果。     

基于中间曲面的局部纹理映射技术

提出一种以平面和一般参数曲面作为中间曲面的局部纹理映射方法，与传统的纹理映射方法相比，不仅能准确地确定纹理贴图的位置，而且可以灵活地改变贴图区域的大小，增加了纹理映射的应用范围，减小了纹理映射中的图案变形。     

贝类在冻藏时的质构和蛋白质特性研究

研究了栉孔扇贝和紫贻贝在冻藏时质构和ＥＰＮ值的变化规律，实验结果表明贝类质构和ＥＰＮ值都随冻藏时间呈线性变化。随着冻藏时间的延长，质构变得更老，ＥＰＮ值下降得更低，磷酸盐和氯化钠等添加剂对贝类的质构和ＥＰＮ值能产生显著影响，在一定时间内可提高ＥＰＮ值和嫩化肌肉。
