Yugoslavian and other records of the Italian freshwater goby,Padogobius martensii,and a character polarization in gobioid fishes

Padogobius martensii, a freshwater gobiid fish from the Po basin and adjoining rivers of northeastern Italy, is now recorded from Yugoslavia (Dalmatia), and further rivers of the Italian Adriatic seaboard. Diagnostic features are summarized, with special reference to another freshwater goby of the area, Orsinigobius punctatissimus. The origin of the Dalmatian populations is discussed with reference to sea-level changes in the postglacial Adriatic basin. Meristic polymorphism in dorsal pterygiophore sequence is described in the various P. martensii populations and its significance noted for polarization of character states in this feature.

十七世纪意大利经济衰落的原因探析

意大利地区是世界近代史上最早出现资本主义萌芽的地区之一。到十七世纪,意大利进入经济结构调整期。纺织业的衰落、农业艰难的复兴、城乡经济的对立以及人口增长缓慢使意大利的近代化进程落后于同时期的西欧诸国,进而使其丧失了地中海贸易的中心地位。     

Airborne pollen content in the atmosphere of central Italy (1982–1986)

Summary This report describes qualitatively and quantitatively the content of pollen in the atmosphere of central Italy during the five years 1982–1986. Total production in this period showed fluctuations depending on the flowering seasons of the anemophilous taxa. The season of maximum pollen concentration was from April to July, with a prevalence of arboreal pollen in thefirst months, and of pollen from herbaceous plants in the last months of the year. During the five years of research more than 81 different types of pollen grains were recorded and identified. In both the cities investigated Curpessaceae/Taxaceae, Fagaceae, Oleaceae Gramineae and Urticaceae were responsible for the greatest amounts of pollen.     

New troglobitic species of the genus Troglocheles (Acari: Prostigmata: Rhagidiidae) from caves in northern Italy and Austria,with a key to adult species of the genus

Three new troglobitic species of rhagidiid mites of the genus Troglocheles – two from northern Italy, Troglocheles quinquesolenidiata sp. nov. and T. lanai sp. nov., and T. christiani sp. nov. from Austria – are described. A key to adults of the known species of the genus Troglocheles Zacharda of the world is given. In these vicariant species the different apomorphic morphological traits, troglomorphisms, are discussed in aspects of allopatric speciation, climatic relict hypothesis and evolutionary processes of adaptation to specific niches and time of occupation of the subterranean habitat. All new taxa are authored by M. Zacharda only.

Feyerabend,truth, and relativisms: Footnotes to the Italian debate

There is a substantial literature on Feyerabend's relativism—including a few papers in this collection—but fewer specific studies of the ways that his writings and ideas have been taken up among the non-academic public. This is odd, given his obvious interest in the lives and concerns of persons who were not ‘intellectuals’—a term that, for him, had a pejorative ring to it. It is also odd, given the abundance of evidence of how Feyerabend's relativism played a role in a specific national and cultural context—namely, contemporary Italian debates about relativism. This paper offers a study of how Feyerabend's ideas have been deployed by Italian intellectuals and cultural commentators—including the current Pope—and critically assesses them.

出自古文家薛福成之手的《出使英法义比四国日记》,以欧洲社会为叙述对象,据事发论,称赞君主立宪制,提出挽救时弊、强盛中华的方略,以中华传统思想文化阐述西方政治、经济、科学观念,具有浓厚的改良主义色彩.取材、布局随意,在浅近文言中夹杂使用双音词、外来词,不自觉地离开了桐城"义法",成为古文蜕化、新文体孕育的开始.     

Two new species of the genus Pseudolaelaps Berlese, 1916 (Acari: Mesostigmata: Pseudolaelapidae) from Europe,with an updated key to known species

Pseudolaelaps calvescens sp. nov. and Pseudolaelaps schweizeri sp. nov. (Acari: Pseudolaelapidae) are described based on female specimens from leaf litter and soil of forest habitats in Italy (surroundings of Bergamo) and Switzerland (surroundings of Basel), respectively. The British specimens referred to Pseudolaelaps doderoi are revised, and considered to be a misidentification of P. schweizeri sp. nov. An identification key to known species of the genus Pseudolaelaps is provided.
