Nα-quinaldyl-L-arginine·HCl,a new defensive alkaloid fromSubcoccinella-24-punctata (Coleoptera,Coccinellidae)

The isolation of N-quinaldyl-L-arginine·HCl (1) from the CoccinellidaeSubcoccinella-24-punctata is reported. The structure, first established on the basis of the analysis of the spectral properties of1, has been confirmed by synthesis. The alkaloid is of endogenous origin and markedly deterrent to ants.     

6种瓢虫的RAPD分析及在分类上应用的研究

利用随机引物分别对6种瓢虫的DNA进行了聚合酶链式反应（RAPD－PCR）的实验。结果显示，用相同引物扩增不同种瓢虫的基因组DNA，扩增产物多态性DNA片段的数目是不同的；两种不同引物的扩增产物中，各自呈现出种、属的特异性片段，其可用于种、属的鉴别；聚类图显示了种、属之间亲缘关系的远近程度，并与形态学分类结果相一致。实验分析还发现：七星瓢虫不同个体间多态性DNA特有带较多，遗传较稳定；龟纹瓢虫与之相比，不同个体间多态性DNA的特有带较少，变异程度较大。     

福建瓢虫科昆虫名录的厘订

《福建省瓢虫科昆虫名录》(1991)记述福建省瓢虫145种,现福建瓢虫已知者增至160种,将在“福建昆虫”志书中发表。     

Defensive use of an acquired substance (carminic acid) by predaceous insect larvae

Larvae of two insects, a coccinellid beetle (Hyperaspis trifurcata) and a chamaemyiid fly (Leucopis sp.), feed on cochineal insects and appropriate their prey's defensive chemical, carminic acid, for protective purposes of their own.H. trifurcata discharges the chemical with droplets of blood (hemolymph) that it emits when disturbed;Leucopis sp. ejects the compound with rectal fluid. Ants are thwarted by these defenses, which are compared with the previously-described defense of a pyralid caterpillar (Laetilia coccidivora) that disgorges carminic acid-laden crop fluid. The defensive fluid of all three larvae contains carminic acid at concentrations spanning a range (0.2–6.2%) proven deterrent to ants. Many insects are known to appropriate defensive substances from plants. (Z)-1,17-diaminooctadec-9-ene,a novel aliphatic diamine from coccinellidae

Halvorsenius exilis gen. et sp. nov., a new didymozoid trematode from the mackerel Scomber scombrus L.

Summary

A new genus and species of nematobothriine didymozoid, Halvorsenius exilis, is described. These worms occur unpaired and unencysted in the connective tissue of the mackerel Scomber scombrus, especially in the pericardium, the ‘throat’ region, the orbits and the region of the kidneys. Halvorsenius belongs to a group of genera which possess three uterine loops and two testes, but can be distinguished by the atrophy of the gut and other features. Live worms occur only in young mackerel, although aggregations of eggs are found in older fish. It appears that the eggs are retained in utero until the death of the worm and that there is no obvious mechanism for voiding the eggs from the fish other than through the death of this host.     

中国瓢虫科的物种多样性分析

从华夏地理区的形成及其气候条件对植物进化的影响 ,以及昆虫与植物的协同进化关系 ,分析了包括10亚科 85属 6 80种的中国瓢虫科昆虫的物种多样性 ,并对中国分布的瓢虫科物种数进行了估算     

Tocopheryl acetates from the pupal exocrine secretion of the squash beetle,Epilachna borealis (Coccinellidae)

The oily droplets on the pupal integumental hairs of the squash beetleEpilachna borealis contain a mixture of -, -, -, and -tocopheryl acetates as major constituents. In addition, the secretion contains a number of minor components that appear to be dehydrocongeners of the major components. This is the first report of the occurrence of acetate esters of any tocopherol in nature.This is paper No. 132 in the series Defense Mechanisms of Arthropods; No. 131 is Shi et al., Tetrahedron52 (1996) 6859.     

Hesperomyces virescens （Fungi,Ascomycota, Laboulbeniales） attacking Harmonia axyridis （Coleoptera,Coccinellidae） in its native range

This study intended to find data on obligate ec- toparasitic Laboulbeniales （Fungi, Ascomycota） on Chinese Harmonia axyridis （Coleoptera, Coccinellidae）. After having screened over four thousand dried specimens of H. axyridis and close relatives, we present the first （historical） record of Chinese H. axyridis infected with Hesperomyces virescens. We suggest that H. t, irescens is a historically globally dis- tributed species and hypothesize that （native） infection was lost when H. a~a;ridis was introduced in North America.     

南充市郊瓢虫科昆虫的初步研究

2003年3月-2004年4月，在南充市郊区共采得瓢虫标本700余头，经鉴定隶属7亚科19属，共32种，26个变型并首次发现了中国境内龟纹瓢虫的一个新变型-盔斑变型Propylea japonica ab．helmet．
