Evaluating the reliability of microsatellite genotyping from low-quality DNA templates with a polynomial distribution model

Molecular studies using trace DNA, such as from museum specimens, ancient or forensic samples and samples obtained noninvasively, often have a common problem of low quality of DNA templates. Amplification errors, such as allelic dropout and false allele, may arise during polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using such samples. A mathematical model which treats homozygotes and heterozygotes discriminately has been developed to measure sample quality and compute the confidence level of using multipletube approaches. We use plucked hair samples collected from 26 individual Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxel- lana) to test the model. In this case, a confidence level of 99% can be achieved by three positive PCRs. If the sample quality is very poor and requires many PCR replicates, an alternative multiplestep genotyping method is recommended. This model enables researchers to optimize experimental protocols through pilot studies and obtain reliable genetic information using noninvasive sampling method.     

探月工程三期月地高速再入返回飞行器防热系统设计与验证

本文针对月地高速再入返回的高焓、二次大气层再入、高热流密度峰值与长加热时间耦合的气动加热环境特点,提出了飞行器防热系统设计方案,研制了七种新型碳硅复合烧蚀防热材料,建立了防热系统分析模型,并完成了地面试验验证.经对飞行试验数据的详细分析,结果表明防热系统的实际性能与设计预期一致.     

External synchronization of two dynamical systems with uncertain parameters

A bioinformatic evaluation of potential allergenicity of 85 candidate genes in transgenic organisms

The potential of genetically modified organisms(GMOs) to increase allergenicity or predispositions to allergies has attracted much attention.An approach that will properly and holistically evaluate the allergenicity of GMOs is yet to be found.Here,85 transgenes that have been reported in both international and domestic studies during recent years are summarized case by case;49 of the transformed genes were from plant sources and 36 were from animal sources.EVALLERTM,a web server for the in silico assessment of potential protein allergenicity,was used to evaluate the potential of the transgenic proteins as allergens.The biomedical journals listed in Highwire(http://highwire.stanford.edu/) were searched and reviewed to decipher whether any of the transformed genes were linked to allergenicity or human health.The EVALLER analysis identified 5 allergenic genes,whilst our literature review found 11 genes that were either related to allergic cases or to clinical adverse events;all 16 of these genes have been used in GMOs.The analysis pathway that we have developed can help guide the selection of genes to be used in genetic modification.The pathway also provides a paradigm for allergenicity analysis of transgene candidates.     

A preliminary study of chronology for a newly-discovered ancient city and five archaeological sites in Lop Nor,China

Dominance rank of adult females and mating competition in Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxellana) in the Qinling Mountains, China

Dominance hierarchy reflects resource competition in male primates as well as females.In this study,we collected data on the social rank and mating competition of female Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys from September 2009 to June 2010 in the Qinling Mountains,Shaanxi,China.Displacement was used to determine social hierarchy of the studied wild females.A total of 1223 displacement bouts between adult females and 316 mating behaviors within one-male units(OMUs) were recorded.Competitive displacement among females was very low(0.22 displacements per observation hour).The dominant ranks of females in target OMUs were determined by displacement,from one OMU to another:JB unit:YL > DBC > YCM >XBC > BD;JZT unit:XHW > JG > DT;PK unit:QQ > TM > HF;LP unit:SK > TH > WM.Higher-ranking females performed significantly more sexual behavior than lower-ranking females in this rare monkey.High-ranking females were more likely to win mating contests within those OMUs.Based on these studies,we assessed the social relationships among adult females and clarified possible explanations for the strategies of female mating competition in the OMUs.Furthermore,the notion that reproductive success may also be related to female dominance hierarchies in this polygynous species should be considered in future research.     

稳定核195Pt的高自旋态能级结构

利用非完全熔合反应192Os（7Li,（p,d,t）xn）布居了稳定核195pt的高自旋态.根据γ-γ合关系、γ射线的相对强度和各向异性度的测量结果,建立了195pt核的能级纲图,其中包括11条新的γ跃迁和9个新能级.通过与邻近核的能级系统性比较,指出了195Spt核基于vi-113/2,和vi-213/2vj-1（j=p3/2,f5/2）组态的转动带能级结构.同时,利用Total-Routhian-Surface（TRS）理论计算结果讨论了195pt核的转动带性质.     

稳定核~（193）Ir的高自旋态

利用非完全熔合反应192Os（7Li,α2n）布居了稳定核193Ir的高自旋态.基于标准在束γ谱学实验测量结果,扩展了193Ir核原有的能级纲图,并首次观测到了建立在πh11/2组态上的转动带能级结构.根据邻近奇A核已有的高自旋态核结构知识,通过系统学比较和分析,建议了193Ir核的3-准粒子组态.实验发现187-193Ir核πh11/2转动带的旋称劈裂随着中子数的增加而逐渐增大.利用Total-Routhian-Surface理论计算,可以定性地解释这种变化规律.     

Preliminary animal studies on observation of injured spinal cord with intraoperative ultrasound backscatter microscopy

Many studies have shown that strategies of nerve regeneration and cell-based transplantation are valid based on animal models of spinal cord injury (SCI).To apply these strategies and bridge spinal cord defects,the identification and precise localization of lesions during spinal cord surgery is necessary.The aim of the present experiment was to evaluate the capabilities of ultrasound backscatter microscopy (UBM) in identifying morphologic changes after SCI.After laminectomy,high-resolution ultrasound images of the spinal cord were obtained in one normal and seven spinal cord-injured adult Wistar rats using a UBM system with a 55-MHz center frequency scanner.Comparison between histoanatomic and UBM images was also performed.The results showed that UBM can identify cysts after the experimental SCI is removed in adult rats.In addition,the glial scar formed in secondary injury showed obvious hyperechoic speckle in the UBM image and correlated with the histoanatomic image.UBM has obvious clinical value in nerve regeneration and cell-based transplantation strategies in injured spinal cords.     

^139Pm高自旋态的实验研究

通过重离子核反应^116Cd（^27Al,4n）与在束γ谱的实验技术,对A=130-140核区的奇A核139Pm的高自旋态进行了研究.根据γ-γ符合关系、γ射线的相对强度和各向异性度的测量结果,扩展并更新了^139Pm的能级纲图.实验观测到基于πh11/2和πg7/2 [πh11/2]^2（或者πd5/2 [πh11/2]^2）组态的转动带,利用已有的理论计算结果对这些转动带进行了解释.同时还观测到三个具有很强M1跃迁、旋称劈裂很小的△I=1的带.通过简单分析和系统学比较,指认了它们的组态,发现它们具备磁转动带的特性,很可能是磁转动带.
