Long-term Energy Demand and CO_2 Problem in the PRC

The long-term energy demand in China and the-Chinese share in global CO2 emission are forecasted on the basis of scenarios of population growth and economy development up to 2050 proposed in view of the interaction of energy, economy, environment and social development. The total energy demand in 2050 will reach 4.4~ 5.4 billion tce. It is shown in energy supply analysis that coal is China's major energy in primary energy supply. The share of CO2 emission in the future Chinese energy system will be out of proportion to its energy consumption share because of the high persentage of coal to be consumed. It will reach about 27%. The nuclear option which would replace 30.7% of coal in the total primary energy supply will reduce the share by 9.8%. So the policy considerations on the future Chinese energy system is of great importance to the global CO2 issues.     

The Fundamental Definitions in Radar Measurement Principle and Theory of Space and Time

Fundamental definitions of distance and velocity in radar measurement principle are examined and revised from strict theoretical point of view. Synchronization scheme - for clocks in uniform, translatory relative motion is introduced as theoretical foundation for GPS and GLONASS type navigation and positioning technology. Traditional definitions of two-way radar measurement, based on arithmetic mean vlaue concept, turn out to be special cases of revised definitions for one-way radar measurement, based on geometric mean concept, derived from synchronization of moving clocks in accordance with the principle of relativity. The essential physical meaning of Lorentz transformation is interpreted in terms of radar measured parameters. Invariance or absoluteness of four dimensional interval turns out to be invariance or absoluteness of geometric mean time interval. Enhancement of virus growth produced by thiols and disulphides

Summary Several thiols and disulphides have been found able both to shorten the latency phase and to increase the growth of several virus strains in cell cultures.This work has been supported by a grant of Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Roma (Italy).     

Effects of anaesthesia and chronic catheterization on circulating levels of prostaglandins (PGE2 and PGF2a in dogs

Summary Chronic catheterization of aorta and inferior vena cava in dogs did not significantly affect circulating levels of prostaglandins (PGE₂ and PGF_2a ). The interaction of angiotensin with a binding factor in plasma

Résumé La liaison de l'angiotensine par les protéines plasmatiques est démontrée par dialyse équilibrée. L'angiotensine radioactive liée ne put être déplacée par l'angiotensine non radioactive, ce qui diminue la signification physiologique de cette liaison.
