本文提出了智能化自完善控制策略,通过采用“知识库”存贮最佳的知识与经验,根据受控对象当前运行条件及状态,运用相应的分析逻辑及推理功能,实时地调整控制器结构及参数,以实现逐步改善控制系统性能的目的.文中将所论述的控制策略用于水轮机调速器开发研究.     

溶胶-凝胶气相色谱柱的柱容量的研究

新型的溶胶—凝胶毛细管气相色谱柱除了具有热稳定性高及分离效果好的特点外，此色谱柱的柱容量(sample capacity)数倍于传统的用静态法涂渍固定相并用交联反应使之固载化的色谱柱的柱容量．在两种不同的色谱柱上，逐渐增加试样的进样量，柱效率随之变化．进样量对柱效率的影响清楚地表明了溶胶—凝胶柱的柱容量远高于传统柱．     

VEGF regulates haematopoietic stem cell survival by an internal autocrine loop mechanism

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a principal regulator of blood vessel formation and haematopoiesis, but the mechanisms by which VEGF differentially regulates these processes have been elusive. Here we describe a regulatory loop by which VEGF controls survival of haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). We observed a reduction in survival, colony formation and in vivo repopulation rates of HSCs after ablation of the VEGF gene in mice. Intracellularly acting small-molecule inhibitors of VEGF receptor (VEGFR) tyrosine kinase dramatically reduced colony formation of HSCs, thus mimicking deletion of the VEGF gene. However, blocking VEGF by administering a soluble VEGFR-1, which acts extracellularly, induced only minor effects. These findings support the involvement in HSC survival of a VEGF-dependent internal autocrine loop mechanism (that is, the mechanism is resistant to inhibitors that fail to penetrate the intracellular compartment). Not only ligands selective for VEGF and VEGFR-2 but also VEGFR-1 agonists rescued survival and repopulation of VEGF-deficient HSCs, revealing a function for VEGFR-1 signalling during haematopoiesis.     

Solubility of cobalt laurate in water and non-aqueous solvents

Zusammenfassung Die bisher unbekannte Löslichkeit von Kobaltlaurat wurde mit Hilfe der Tracer-Technik unter Verwendung von⁵⁸Co bestimmt. Die Löslichkeit in Wasser und organischen Lösungsmitteln (mit Ausnahme von Methanol) ist sehr gering. Die relativ grosse Löslichkeit in Methanol wird auf Bildung von Co²⁺-Methanol-Komplexen zurückgeführt.     

Reduced bit low power VLSI architectures for motion estimation

Low power and real time very large scale integration(VLSI) architectures of motion estimation(ME) algorithms for mobile devices and applications are presented.The power reduction is achieved by devising a novel correction recovery mechanism based on algorithms which allow the use of reduced bit sum of absolute difference(RBSAD) metric for calculating matching error and conversion to full resolution sum of absolute difference(SAD) metric whenever necessary.Parallel and pipelined architectures for high throughput of full search ME corresponding to both the full resolution SAD and the generalized RBSAD algorithm are synthesized using Xilinx Synthesis Tools(XST),where the ME designs based on reduced bit(RB) algorithms demonstrate the reduction in power consumption up to 45% and/or the reduction in area up to 38%.     

Mutations in RNF135, a gene within the NF1 microdeletion region, cause phenotypic abnormalities including overgrowth

17q11 microdeletions that encompass NF1 cause 5%-10% of cases of neurofibromatosis type 1, and individuals with microdeletions are typically taller than individuals with intragenic NF1 mutations, suggesting that deletion of a neighboring gene might promote human growth. We identified mutations in RNF135, which is within the NF1 microdeletion region, in six families characterized by overgrowth, learning disability, dysmorphic features and variable additional features. These data identify RNF135 as causative of a new overgrowth syndrome and demonstrate that RNF135 haploinsufficiency contributes to the phenotype of NF1 microdeletion cases.     

A rapid technique for characterizing metal-protein complexes by pH-metry

Zusammenfassung Die pH-Messmethode zur Bestimmung der Bindung von Wasserstoffionen an Eiweiss wurde für den Bereich der Metallionen erweitert. Die Daten über die Metallionenbindung von Kobalt und Nickel für die Transfusionsgelatine wurden aus der Verschiebung der pH-Titrationskurven bei Anwesenheit bzw. Abwesenheit der Metallionen gewonnen.
