Improved staff performance appraisal within ShanghaiContainer Terminals Limited(SCT), a joint venture be-tween Shanghai and Hong Kong, is studied in this pa-per. It is described how SCT has been applying perfor-mance appraisal techniques and measures that make ac-tual connections between appraisal and rewards on thebasis of its situation.
