This article presents a community learning model formulated by Engineers Without Borders Colombia with the aim of providing communities with tools to create sustainable productive solutions which have relevancy for members and for potential customers. The goal of this formulation is to promote learning processes that are guided by decisions made by community members to propose sustainable and replicable initiatives. The model applicability is evidenced through a case study devoted to strengthening community-led green businesses in the Guavio Province, Colombia by collecting lessons and conclusions. Ultimately, this collection will prove useful in replicating the learning model in other similar rural communities.
Phagocytes, the first-line cells of the body's defence mechanisms against invading pathogens, kill microorganisms by means of lysosomal degradative enzymes and highly toxic reactive oxygen intermediates. The reactive oxygen compounds are produced, in a process called the 'respiratory burst', by the NADPH oxidase complex in plasma membranes, and by myeloperoxidase in phagolysosomes after degranulation. These processes generate electronically excited states which, on relaxation, emit photons, giving rise to phagocyte chemiluminescence (CL). This paper describes the conditions for the measurement of CL, and reviews the activity of phagocytes from individuals undergoing stress or disease. The capability of phagocytes to emit photons reflects remarkably well the pathophysiological state of the host. In many cases even the magnitude of the stress, the presence of a pathogen in the body, or the activity of the disease can be estimated. Physiological changes, e.g. in the reproductive cycle, can also be predicted. 相似文献
Summary By condensing 2:4:5-triamino-6-hydroxy-pyrimidine with dihydroxyacetone (diacetate), diaminoacetone or acetone-1,3-di (p-formylaminobenzoic acid) not the expected 8- or 9-oxymethyl resp. -aminomethyl-pteridines but 8-or 9-methyl-pteridines were obtained. With p-tolyl-d-isoglucosamine not a tetrahydroxybutyl-pteridine but a trihydroxybutyl-pteridine was formed. For an explanation of these results it is supposed that from the dihydro-pteridines formed at first by intramolecular splitting off of H2O or R·NH2 aromatization takes place.
In agglomerative hierarchical clustering, pair-group methods suffer from a problem of non-uniqueness when two or more distances
between different clusters coincide during the amalgamation process. The traditional approach for solving this drawback has
been to take any arbitrary criterion in order to break ties between distances, which results in different hierarchical classifications
depending on the criterion followed. In this article we propose a variable-group algorithm that consists in grouping more
than two clusters at the same time when ties occur. We give a tree representation for the results of the algorithm, which
we call a multidendrogram, as well as a generalization of the Lance andWilliams’ formula which enables the implementation of the algorithm in a recursive
way.

1 Results In the coordination system by using complexation with organic ligand, the ff emission of lanthanide(Ⅲ) (Ln(Ⅲ)) is induced the excitation energy transfer form the organic chromophore under the light-irradiation. However, there are not so much number of reports to discuss the energy relaxation mechanism in such complexes with Ln(Ⅲ). Recently, we succeeded firstly to estimate the rate constant of the energy transfer between the ligand and Ln(Ⅲ) in Pr(Ⅲ)-phenanthroline analogs[1]. Here, we will di... 相似文献
