Immunochemical studies on acetylornithine 5-aminotransferase from Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Mouse antibodies with specificity towards acetylornithine 5-aminotransferase (ACOAT) from Pseudomonas aeruginosa were used to study the structural similarities of several isofunctional enzymes from different sources. With the antibody directed against ACOAT, the amounts of enzyme present in cells grown under different conditions were determined. These experiments established that the enzyme is induced by arginine and is subject to repression by carbon sources.     

The oxidation of glutathione with formic acid and hydrogen peroxide

Zusammenfassung Durch Oxydation von Glutathion mit Wasserstoffsuperoxid in Ameisensäure wurde Glutathion-dihydrosulfoxid erhalten. Glutathion-sulfoxid, N-Acetylglutathion und assoziiertes (reversibel polymerisiertes) Glutathion wurden als Vergleichssubstanzen erstmalig hergestellt.

A new liver-specific autoantigen in the rat: Delta antigen

Zusammenfassung Es werden einige Eigenschaften eines leberspezifischen Antigensystems der Ratte beschrieben. Es wird gezeigt, dass das entsprechende Antigen aus Lewis-Ratten in BN-Ratten einen universell kreuzreagierenden Autoantikörper induziert.

Summary A method to manufacture specific antisera with a minute amount of pure enzyme is presented. The discrimination of various cystine sulfoxides

Zusammenfassung L-Cysteinsäure-L-cysteinylester und symmetrischesL-Cystindisulfoxyd wurden als zwei isomere Oxydationsprodukte des Cystins isoliert und durch IR-Spektrum und verschiedenes Verhalten bei der elektrolytischen Reduktion charakterisiert. Mit Hilfe gleichmässiger mechanischer Titration wurden die pH-Beständigkeitsbereiche und das kritische pH beginnender Hydrolyse als abrupte Wendung in der Titrationskurve automatisch registriert.Die katalytische Wechselwirkung des Cysteins an der rotierenden Platinelektrode wurde indirekt als Endpunktindikation der amperometrischen Titration des Cysteins in Tris-Puffer benutzt.
