Difference in the action of acriflavine and hydroxyurea on synthesis of macromolecules in a mammalian cell system in vitro

Résumé L'incorporation autoradiographique des divers précurseurs radioactifs (H³-thymidine, H³-uridine, C¹⁴-phénylalanine) a été étudiée dans les cellules du foie humain prétraité avec acriflavine ou hydroxyuréa pendant différentes periodes. Les concentrations utilisées ont démontré une inhibition remarquable de la synthèse d'ADN. Mais l'effet des deux substances sur le nombre de cellules synthétisant de l'ADN n'est pas identique. Aussi l'effet des deux agents sur la synthèse d'ARN et de protéine est différent qualitativement.     

The role of glycine in the biosynthesis of a terpene

Zusammenfassung Mit doppelt markiertem Glycin konnte gezeigt werden, dass das Kohlenstoffatom der Methylgruppe viel besser als das Kohlenstoffatom der Karboxylgruppe in die Isoprengruppe des Ophiobolins B ausCochiobolus miyabeanus eingebaut wird. Die Radioaktivität wird in Ophiobolin B eingebaut, wenn die folgenden Verbindungen verwendet werden: [3-¹⁴C]-Serin, [¹⁴C-Methyl]-Sarcosin, [¹⁴C-Methyl]-Methionin, und [¹⁴C] Formate.

RNA and DNA metabolism in liver cells of normal and cancer-bearing mice

Résumé Le métabolisme des acides nucléiques des cellules du foie de souris de la souche C₃H normales et atteintes d'une tumeur maligne, a été étudié à divers intervalles de temps avec de l'adénine marquée.Dans le cas des souris normales, la proportion de RNA incorporée dans le noyau par rapport au cytoplasme se modifie fortement. Dans le cas des souris atteintes d'une tumeur maligne, ce rapport reste stable pendant la durée de l'expérience.

Zusammenfassung Zu Beginn der Entwicklung der Wirbelsäure im Hühnerembryo findet sich die alkalische Phosphatase intrazellulär. Mit der späteren Verkalkung und Entwicklung des Knochenmarks ist die Reaktion extrazellulär nachweisbar.
