A total of 80 fly species (Insecta: Diptera) belonging to 66 genera, and representing 26 families was identified from three natural areas or ‘Rawdhats’ in the Riyadh Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The Rawdhats surveyed are Al-Harmaliyah (Al Quwayiyah Province), Al-Sabalah (Azulfi Province) and Farshet Sheaal (Al Aflaj Province). One family, one subfamily, 11 genera and 18 species were recorded for the first time from KSA, namely: the family Trixoscelididae; the subfamily Suilliinae (Heleomyzidae); the genera Oligodranes (Bombyliidae), Pseudomphrale (Scenopinidae), Actorthia (Therevidae), Crossopalpus (Hybotidae), Scatella (Ephydridae), Suillia (Heleomyzidae), Trixoscelis (Trixoscelididae), Renocera [Sciomyzidae], Melanophora and Stevenia [Rhinophoridae], Miltogramma [Sarcophagidae]; and the species Eremisca heleni (Efflatoun) and Ommatius tenellus van der Wulp [Asilidae], Oligodranes sp. [Bombyliidae], Pseudomphrale flavoscutellata Kröber [Scenopinidae], Actorthia lacteipennis (Becker), Actorthia sp. and Efflatouniella sinatica Mohammad and Badrawy [Therevidae], Crossopalpus hirsutipes Collin [Hybotidae], Eumerus mucidus Bezzi [Syrphidae], Ephydra riparia Fallén and Scatella sp. [Ephydridae], Suillia apicalis (Loew) [Heleomyzidae], Trixoscelis sp. (Trixoscelididae) and Renocera pallida (Fallén) [Sciomyzidae], Goniurellia longicauda Freidberg [Tephritidae], Melanophora sp. and Stevenia sp. [Rhinophoridae], and Miltogramma sp. [Sarcophagidae]. The zoogeographic affinities of the identified species showed a closer affiliation with the Palaearctic Region (26%) than to the Afrotropical Region (12.5%), while about 16% of the species were of both Afrotropical and Palaearctic affinities. Elements from other regions were apparently absent. The result support the idea that the central Arabian Desert which includes our study area is a transitional zone between the Palaearctic and Afrotropical regions. 相似文献

The animal fauna of the Socotra Archipelago is influenced by three biogeographical regions, the Afrotropical, the Oriental and the Palaearctic. Consequently, the Archipelago shares faunal elements of these three regions in addition to unique endemic taxa. The ant fauna of Socotra Island was studied and is reviewed based on literature and newly collected material. In total, 28 species, belonging to 10 genera and four subfamilies, were collected from the main island. Eighteen of these (64%) are successful invasive species, seven are native (25%), and three are considered endemic (11%), Cardiocondyla longiceps Seifert, Monomorium elghazalyi sp. nov. and Monomorium nimihil Collingwood et al. Two genera are recorded for the first time from the island, Hypoponera Santschi, and Syllophopsis Santschi. Ten species are recorded for the first time, Cardiocondyla mauritanica Forel, Cardiocondyla minutior Forel, Monomorium atomum Forel, Monomorium dichroum Forel, Monomorium exiguum Forel, Pheidole pallidula (Nylander), Syllophopsis cryptobia (Santschi), Tetramorium pauper Forel, Tetramorium transformans Santschi and Hypoponera punctatissima (Roger). Ten invasive species are recorded from Socotra, reflecting human impacts on the Archipelago. These species are Tapinoma melanocephalum (Fabricius), Cardiocondyla emeryi Forel, Monomorium exiguum Forel, Pheidole indica Mayr, Syllophopsis cryptobia (Santschi), Tetramorium lanuginosum Mayr, Tetramorium simillimum (Smith), Tetramorium caldarium (Roger), Trichomyrmex destructor (Jerdon) and Trichomyrmex mayri (Forel). Our survey indicated a mixture of Afrotropical faunal elements (10 species, 36%), followed by cosmopolitan (nine species, 32%), Palaearctic (five species, 18%) and Oriental (four species, 14%) taxa. Two new synonyms of Monomorium exiguum Forel are proposed: Monomorium exiguum Forel = Monomorium baushare Collingwood & Agosti syn. nov. = Monomorium qarahe Collingwood & Agosti syn. nov. Tetramorium transformans Santschi is removed from synonymy with Tetramorium caldarium (Roger) and elevated to species rank. Ecological and biological notes for each species are given. Distribution maps for all species known from the Socotra Archipelago are provided.

在综合考虑新构造运动和全球海面变化与海岸带地区地貌发育关系后,根据现代地貌面、海岸线和相关沉积等所反映的海面变化与全球海面变化的对比,推算了山东半岛东北部沿海地区的新构造抬升速率。结果表明,12.4万年以来牟平-即墨断裂带两侧的构造抬升速率有明显差异,断裂带西侧沿岸为0.50mm/a,断裂带东侧沿岸仅为0.15mm/a。 相似文献

We have studied the type and other specimens of Stomatopora calypsoides (Jullien, ) collected in the NE Atlantic off the coast of the NW Iberian Peninsula and held in the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (Paris). We consider that this species should be placed in a new genus, Jullienipora gen. nov., because of its budding and branching patterns, and the presence and peculiar positioning of heterozooids. Assignment of this genus to a specific family must wait for the re‐organization of the family Stomatoporidae. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe morphology of corellids (Ascidiacea) has led to numerous misidentifications and wrong taxonomic decisions over the last century. Paradoxically, the morphology has also enabled new species to be identified and ancient entities to be re-established in the Southern Hemisphere. There are many examples of the integration of morphological and molecular data leading to the same taxonomic conclusions, and therefore we aimed to analyse DNA sequences of the gene cytochrome oxidase subunit I of currently accepted species within Corellidae occurring in the Southern Hemisphere. Haplotype networks along with phylogenetic trees and genetic distances not only corroborate the distinction between Corella eumyota and Corella antarctica, but also separate the latter into two potential groups, one located in Terre Adélie and the other in the Antarctic Peninsula (AP). Furthermore, the C. antarctica group from the AP was closely related to the allied abyssal species, Corynascidia suhmi from Terre Adélie. Although the number of new sequences is reduced, our results are congruent with a long record of suspicion on the matter and stress the need for deeper and more extensive investigation of this ascidian family. 相似文献
