Apodidymochelia castellata, new genus, new species is the second genus and fourth species in the rare and poorly known family Didymocheliidae. Apodidymochelia is separated from Didymochelia primarily on mandible structure. This record extends the known range of the family into the Atlantic Ocean.     

海南热带体育旅游资源调查研究——以白沙黎族自治县为例

采用文献资料法、田野考察法、专家访谈法对海南省热带体育旅游资源进行实地调查,提出创新的＂热带体育旅游＂＂热带体育旅游资源＂理念,并形成系列论文。在此基础上对白沙黎族自治县的热带体育旅游资源展开专题研究,并提出相应建议。     

A new species of Melanagromyza (Diptera: Agromyzidae) mining leaves of Bromelia pinguin (Bromeliaceae) in a dry forest in Costa Rica

Melanagromyza rosales, sp. nov., from Costa Rica is described and its natural history is summarized. Larvae are miners in leaves of Bromelia pinguin, a large terrestrial rosette plant. They form conspicuous longitudinal mines that may be over 1 m long. Adult emergence is virtually simultaneous for all individuals, probably triggered by temperature cues. Populations are low for many generations with brief periods of abundance.     

Plant consumption in coastal populations of the lizard Tropidurus torquatus (Reptilia: Squamata: Tropiduridae): how do herbivory rates vary along their geographic range?

Tropidurus torquatus lizards commonly consume vegetal matter as part of their diet. However, it is not known to what extent the rate of consumption of plant material varies among populations. We investigated the consumption of plant material in 10 populations of T. torquatus in eastern Brazil. In all populations, lizards consumed plant matter (especially fruits and flowers). The proportion of plant volume in the diet varied from 2.1% to 58.0% of the total volume consumed. Differences in volumetric proportion of plant material consumed did not result from lizard body size or population latitude. The volumetric proportion of plant material did not differ between sexes at each locality; however, there was a slight trend for larger lizards to consume more plant parts. The data obtained indicate that the observed interpopulational variation in plant consumption by T. torquatus results from local environmental factors, mainly the availability of plant matter.     

A new species of the dentipes-subgroup of Triconia and a redescription of T. giesbrechti and T. elongata (Copepoda: Cyclopoida: Oncaeidae) from the tropical Pacific and the Korea Strait

A new species of Triconia in the family Oncaeidae, Triconia pacifica sp. nov., and a new form variant each of Triconia giesbrechti Böttger-Schnack and Triconia elongata Böttger-Schnack are described from two sites in the Pacific. Triconia pacifica can be distinguished from its sibling Triconia dentipes (Giesbrecht) by (1) morphometric characters, including the proportional lengths of distal endopod spines of swimming leg 4, and the relative length of the outer basal seta on P5, and by (2) a number of micro-structures on the appendages. The Pacific specimens of T. elongata and T. giesbrechti resemble the typical forms in morphometric characters, with some minor differences in proportional spine lengths on the swimming legs, and differ in a few micro-structures. The hitherto unknown male of T. giesbrechti is newly described.
