霍桑在其代表作《红字》中不仅体现了当时的浪漫主义及其巅峰超验主义的影响,同时也突出了他本人独特的思想和对自然的理解.《红字》里的自然涉及到三方面:物质世界中的自然,自然的人性以及自然的生本质,这也是霍桑本人在现实生活中一直追求和向往的境界.     

Solving Non-Uniqueness in Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering Using Multidendrograms

In agglomerative hierarchical clustering, pair-group methods suffer from a problem of non-uniqueness when two or more distances between different clusters coincide during the amalgamation process. The traditional approach for solving this drawback has been to take any arbitrary criterion in order to break ties between distances, which results in different hierarchical classifications depending on the criterion followed. In this article we propose a variable-group algorithm that consists in grouping more than two clusters at the same time when ties occur. We give a tree representation for the results of the algorithm, which we call a multidendrogram, as well as a generalization of the Lance andWilliams’ formula which enables the implementation of the algorithm in a recursive way. 世界在变,人对世界的认知也是在不断深化；对语言研究从规范、描写发展到解释认知语言学在客观主义和主观主义之间架起了一座桥梁,提出了主客观相结合的体验主义认识论。隐喻是一种重要的认知模式,是新的语言意义产生的根源。本文通过认知语言学理论阐述研究隐喻的理论基础,并解释隐喻与认知、隐喻与本义的关系,说明对隐喻的研究应注意解释的范围与意义,应从文化与思维入手,探讨语言的哲学实质,从而对语言进行深层次的研究。

This paper briefly accounts the background of American values and beliefs. It analyses the essence of the American ideals and points out that the American values are exaggerated and glamorized by the American upper class. They are in a sense, a dose of anaesthetic and a kind of hypocrisy.     

The Response of Debris-Flow Events to Solar Proton Flares （Ⅰ）

By analyzing the observation data from Dongchuan Debris Flow Observation and Research Station and historical data from year 1965 to 1990 gotten from National Astronomical Ob-servatories/Yunnan Observatory,the responding of debris flow in Jiangjia Ravine to Solar Proton Flare is studied. The following conclusion can be drawn. Solar Proton Flare,as one of most im-portant astronomical factors,affects the activity of debris flow in Yunnan. Generally,from 1965 to1990,the more active Solar Pro-ton Flare is,the greater the probability of high frequency and large runoff of debris flow is. On the contrary,the less active Solar Pro-ton Flare is,the greater the probability of low frequency,small runoff,and low sediment transport of debris flow is.
