Objective probability and the mind-body relation

Objectiveprobability in quantum mechanics is often thought to involve a stochastic process whereby an actual future is selected from a range of possibilities. Everett's seminal idea is that all possible definite futures on the pointer basis exist as components of a macroscopic linear superposition. I demonstrate that these two conceptions of what is involved in quantum processes are linked via two alternative interpretations of the mind-body relation. This leads to a fission, rather than divergence, interpretation of Everettian theory and to a novel explanation of why a principle of indifference does not apply to self-location uncertainty for a post-measurement, pre-observation subject, just as Sebens and Carroll claim. Their Epistemic Separability Principle is shown to arise out of this explanation and the derivation of the Born rule for Everettian theory is thereby put on a firmer footing.

Linking anisotropy with Fe3C distribution in AISI 1045 steel

The anisotropy of the microstructure, thermal expansion behavior, corrosion resistance and magnetic properties of AISI 1045 steel was investigated. The distribution of Fe3C lamellae i n the investigation plane parallel to the radial directions of molds was observed to differ from that in the investigation plane perpendicular to the radial directions by transmission electron microscopy. The lattice constants a0 ofα-Fe deduced from the XRD patterns of samples prepared using a sand (S)-mold and cut parallel to the radial direction of t h e m o l d ( S∥) and using a metal (M)-mold and cut parallel to the radial direction (M∥), the corrosion resistance measured using an electrochemical work-station, and the magnetic permeability obtained by vibrating sample magnetometry also indicated the existence of anisotropy in the tested samples. The anisotropic change of corrosion potential (Ecor ), pitting potential (Epit) and magnetic permeability (μ) of the samples was ob-served to depend on the orientation factor F200 ofα-Fe in the measured samples, which is controlled by the distribution of Fe3C lamellae in the eutectoid structure.

MakarovV.L.证明了一个一般均衡的存在性定理,在这个定理的模型中不要求特殊的收入分配函数、不要求特殊的生产者目标,也不需要消费者偏好的独立性和价格体系的零阶齐次性,但是Makarov的讨论中商品空间是有限维的Rn[1].Zame证明了无限维的赋范格中竞争均衡的某些结果,但其模型要求比Makarov模型要窄[2].目前的这篇文章证明了以赋范格作为商品空间的Makarov模型的竞争均衡的存在性.
