自然的世界,自然的人性——试分析霍桑在《红字》中的“自然”思想

霍桑在其代表作《红字》中不仅体现了当时的浪漫主义及其巅峰超验主义的影响,同时也突出了他本人独特的思想和对自然的理解.《红字》里的自然涉及到三方面:物质世界中的自然,自然的人性以及自然的生本质,这也是霍桑本人在现实生活中一直追求和向往的境界.     

Solving Non-Uniqueness in Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering Using Multidendrograms

In agglomerative hierarchical clustering, pair-group methods suffer from a problem of non-uniqueness when two or more distances between different clusters coincide during the amalgamation process. The traditional approach for solving this drawback has been to take any arbitrary criterion in order to break ties between distances, which results in different hierarchical classifications depending on the criterion followed. In this article we propose a variable-group algorithm that consists in grouping more than two clusters at the same time when ties occur. We give a tree representation for the results of the algorithm, which we call a multidendrogram, as well as a generalization of the Lance andWilliams’ formula which enables the implementation of the algorithm in a recursive way. 化工传热过程计算方法的分析

通过分析比较化工传热过程计算中的平均温度差法(MTD法)和传热单元数法(NTU法),找出了它们之间的内在联系,结合这两种方法的优点,组合成了一种新的计算方法,应用于化工传热过程的计算,可使计算过程大为简便,同时又可评价换热设备流动型式的合理性。     

王昌龄开元年间仕履新考辨

王昌龄开元年间初仁宦迹，史料记载语焉不详，今人考订又多分歧。通过对唐代选举制度及相关诗文钩稽，辩证，对王昌龄这段经历予以考订，昌龄开元十五年进士及第，通过关试进入守选，曾于当年五月参加制举而来中，开元十九年与二十二年两中宏词，分别被授予校书郎和汜水尉，而后职是开元二十三年春授的。     

The Frontier Movement and The American Values and Beliefs

This paper briefly accounts the background of American values and beliefs. It analyses the essence of the American ideals and points out that the American values are exaggerated and glamorized by the American upper class. They are in a sense, a dose of anaesthetic and a kind of hypocrisy.
