Summary

The visible wax coatings of nine species of Aphididae, distributed through six tribes in four subfamilies, are examined by means of the Scanning Electron Microscope. The micromorphology of the extrusions is described and illustrated, as are the cuticular specializations via which the coatings are constructed. The relationships between the form and possible functions of the wax are discussed in the light of the results, as is the degree of correlation between its morphology and current opinion concerning the classification of the family.  相似文献

The genus Paragigagnathus Amitai and Grinberg (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is reported for the first time from Saudi Arabia. Paragigagnathus desertorum (Amitai and Swirski) and P. insuetus (Livshitz and Kuznetsov) were collected from Acacia sp. (Fabaceae) and Tamarix sp. (Tamaricaceae), respectively. Paragigagnathus madinaensis n. sp. is described and illustrated. The new species was found on Tamarix sp. in association with Obdulia daadi Al-Gboory (Prostigmata: Tenuipalpidae) from Al-Riyadh and Al-Madina regions of Saudi Arabia.  相似文献

对土壤中甲螨孳生的种群数量与土壤铅污染之间的相互关系进行探讨.于市区主干道、乡村道路两侧外1m、6m、11m各设一采样点,分别垂直分层采集50份每份为10×10×10 cm3的土壤.统计并鉴定每份标本中甲螨,同时测定土壤中铅的含量.结果显示市区主干道两侧的总体铅含量显著高于乡村道路(P<0.01).市区主干道两侧总体甲螨的密度、丰度显著高于乡村道路两旁(P<0.01)且优势属不同.因此说市区主干道两侧土壤中存在明显的铅污染,污染区甲螨种群数量和孳生密度明显增加,且与铅污染程度密切相关;甲螨似可作为土壤污染监测的指示生物.  相似文献

苹果园种植紫花苜蓿,为捕食性天敌提供了适宜的生存环境和补充猎物,使苹果园天敌数量增加,叶螨种群下降,夏至草是苹果园杂草的优势种,该杂草可为果园前期提供天敌生存所需的花粉,花密和猎物,使东亚小花蝽发生时间早,发育速度快,将有益杂草夏至草引入果园和紫花苜蓿搭配,可弥补单纯紫花苜蓿对天敌早期增殖的不足,夏至草与紫花 苜蓿的比例变化,影响苹果园节肢动物物种数量,当夏至草的覆度大于25%时,对地面植被和苹果树冠捕食于敌种群数量最为有利。  相似文献

The genus Phthiracarus (Acari: Oribatida: Phthiracaridae) was represented in New Zealand only by two species prior to this work. In this paper, Phthiracarus minutus sp. nov. is described and Phthiracarus pellucidus is redescribed. Phthiracarus perlucidus Niedba?a, 1994 is probably a junior synonym of Phthiracarus insularis Jacot, 1935. A key to all known species of Phthiracarus from the Australian Region is also provided to facilitate identification.  相似文献

The paper describes two new species of feather mites collected from the blue-throated blue flycatcher Cyornis rubeculoides (Vigors) (Passeriformes: Muscicapidae) in India (Meghalaya): Trouessartia kharkhanensis Constantinescu et al. sp. nov. (Trouessartiidae) and Proterothrix cyornissimilis Constantinescu et al. sp. nov. (Proctophyllodidae: Pterodectinae). Both sexes of T. kharkhanensis differ from the closest species, T. rubecula Jablonska, 1968 by having setae si and c2 lanceolate and setae c3 and sRIII with acute apex. In males of the new species, the adanal apodemes have a hook-like retroverse apophysis and the internal margins of terminal lamellae have a shallow invagination at the level of setae h3. Both sexes of P. cyornissimilis differ from the closest species, P. cyornis Mironov and Tolstenkov, 2013, mainly by the ornamentation of the dorsal shields: it is absent on the prodorsal shield and poorly expressed on the hysteronothal shield. In males of the new species, the supranal concavity is triangular and the genital arch has a pair of small ovoid sclerites at its tips.
