Clustering the rows and columns of a contingency table

A number of ways of investigating heterogeneity in a two-way contingency table are reviewed. In particular, we consider chi-square decompositions of the Pearson chi-square statistic with respect to the nodes of a hierarchical clustering of the rows and/or the columns of the table. A cut-off point which indicates significant clustering may be defined on the binary trees associated with the respective row and column cluster analyses. This approach provides a simple graphical procedure which is useful in interpreting a significant chi-square statistic of a contingency table.The author gratefully acknowledges the constructive comments of the referees and the editor.     

On some significance tests in cluster analysis

We investigate the properties of several significance tests for distinguishing between the hypothesisH of a homogeneous population and an alternativeA involving clustering or heterogeneity, with emphasis on the case of multidimensional observationsx ₁, ...,x _n ^p . Four types of test statistics are considered: the (s-th) largest gap between observations, their mean distance (or similarity), the minimum within-cluster sum of squares resulting from a k-means algorithm, and the resulting maximum F statistic. The asymptotic distributions underH are given forn and the asymptotic power of the tests is derived for neighboring alternatives.

嫩江水污染物排放总量分配方法研究

针对嫩江沿岸采用氧化塘处理污水的特点，为充分利用水环境容量，以流域总量控制的原则为指导，建立了水污染物总量分配模型，预测不同流量和不同排污情况下的水质，确定不同流量下给定水质目标的临界距离和允许排污量．

《五藏山经》中矿物名称考释及其地理分布研究

《五藏山经》不仅是中国先秦时代重要的地理学著作，而且也是我国古代记述矿物学知识的重要著作，书中收录了89种矿物和岩石，并对其物理属性、分类和产地都有较为准确和全面的记述，特别是关于有用矿产产地和产状以及矿物共生的正确描述，关于利用自然的思想等记述充分说明了《五藏山经》是我国现存最早对矿产进行形态描述、类型划分和区域研究的古代典籍，代表着先秦时代我国矿物学达到的水平，成为中国古代矿物学知识的丰富宝库，其中保存了我国矿产地质学形成雏形时期的大量史料，是研究我国古代矿物分类和地理分布的历史依据，在我国地质学发展史上占有重要的一席之地。     

正态分布位置参数基于不完全数据的区间估计

对于不完全的样本数据，给出了构造正态分布总体位置参数的置信区间的一个方法，这个结果还适用样本中可能存在异常值的情形。

根据序贯抽样理论，结合ＧＢ２８２８的设计原理和特点，设计了一套正常检验的计数抽样方案，从而可以较方便地解决一些合格质量水平不是优先数的产品质量检验问题
