Study on Three-layered Grid Conceptual Prototype Using Ecological Network Computing Environment

Next generation grid systems where the emphasis shifts to distributed global collaboration, a service-oriented approach and information layer issues exhibit a strong sense of automation. Requirements for these systems resemble the self-organizing and the healing properties of natural ecosystems. Some key ecological concepts and mechanisms are introduced into the design for the third generation grid computing architectures by inspiration of this resemblance. Also, an Ecological Network-based Computing Environment (ENCE) platform is designed in this paper. Based on the ENCE platform, a grid-computing model of three-layered grid conceptual prototype that embeds the ENCE layers is presented from the viewpoint of implementation. The implementation model should be useful to the design of the third generation grid systems.

Information and the mechanistic metaphor: The place of information in organizational thought

The purpose of this paper is to examine the possibilities for extending organisational metaphors into the area of information systems. The mechanistic metaphor is used as a relevant example because analysing the assumptions behind it offers a particularly revealing insight into common assumptions in the field of management studies and information systems. These assumptions were developed in a specific historical context, that of the development of bureaucratic forms in a government and industry and the acceptance of what Weber described as instrumental rationality. Three elements of a characteristically mechanistic view of information management are identified: corporate ownership of information, a formal division of information work and a definition of the nature of information as data whose meaning is noncontroversial. It is argued that this view of information is too restricted to allow for creative development of information use, but that the corporate ownership of information continues to be relevant because of the notion of formal rights which has been developed from it.     

英汉成语中的概念隐喻与隐喻思维结构

隐喻是人们认识世界的一种重要的思维方式，是把有关原域／模型的某些特征或者知识结构转移到目标域／模型之上。因而，隐喻作为一种思维方式，不但构建了人类的思想和行为，进而构建了人类的语言。成语作为语言表达方式，是概念隐喻的特例。成语可以用概念隐喻来分析，是隐喻性的语言表达式，成语的语义规律符合概念隐喻理论的系统性原则。     

上古“向上看”概念场研究

＂向上看＂是指人把目光投向上方,在上古汉语中,人们用8个词项、三种结构模式来表达此义位。＂向上看＂概念场经过上古前期、上古中期、上古后期三个时期的历史演变,呈现出了各成员在发展过程中内部要素之间的消长和更替的情况。     

月亮女神:中英传统诗歌中月意象的一个认知隐喻

月意象经常在中英文传统诗歌中出现,为许多著名诗人采用,具有深刻的隐喻内涵。语言学的认知转向后,隐喻的意义已不限于修辞学范畴。莱可夫(Lakoff)等认知语言学家认为,隐喻的本质是以"此物理解和体验彼物",是人类根本的思维方式之一。在这个意义上,诗歌隐喻被认为是常规隐喻的延伸,二者无本质差别。对中英文传统诗歌中的月意象进行梳理之后,不难发现这些意象的隐喻内涵有着共同的认知基础,即"女神"的神话原型。通过平行分析,建立起从源域到目标域的跨域映射,以此说明"月亮是女神"(MOON IS GODDESS)是一个对月意象进行元认知的概念隐喻,是中英文传统诗歌中月意象塑造的契合点。
