Modeling Thermal Protective Performance of Multilayer Fabrics for Firefighters

This paper is to report a prediction model for thermal protective performance of multilayer fabrics based on Matlab neural network toolbox.Then a back propagation (BP) neural network model is developed to predict thermal protective performance of multilayer fabrics for firefighters.The network consists of twelve input nodes,six hidden nodes,and one output node.The inputs are weight,thickness,density of warp and weft,limited oxygen index (LOI),and heat conductivity of each-layer fabric.Thermal protective performance (TPP) rating of multilayer fabrics is the output.In this paper,the data from the experiments are used as learning information for the neural network to develop a reliable prediction model.Finnally the model performance is verified,and the proposed model can be applied to predict the thermal protective performance of multilayer fabrics for firefighters.

Sexual dimorphism of body size in taxidermy specimens of Equus quagga quagga Boddaert (Equidae)

ABSTRACT

Mare taxidermy specimens of quaggas (Equus quagga quagga, an extinct subspecies of the plains zebra that was endemic to South Africa) are significantly longer and marginally taller than stallions – unlike the situation in extant subspecies of plains zebras where the stallions are usually larger than the mares. The possibilities that these differences were due to sampling error, shrinkage of the hides, or distortion during specimen mounting are addressed. It is likely, however, that the taxidermy specimens reflect a sexual dimorphism that existed in quaggas. Differences in body size between mares and stallions might have been an adaptation to their comparatively cold and arid environment, or it might have been caused by genetic drift in a geographically isolated population, or it might have been brought about by a combination of these circumstances.     

个体防护装备在坐姿下的功耗机理与评价方法研究

针对坐姿下防护装备耗能情况,按照不同类型服装功耗不同的研究思路,基于控制变量法和正交试验法的实验研究,采集步进电机在坐姿下身着不同类型、不同大小、不同材质的服装的电流值和电压值等试验数据,计算各类型服装下的电机功率值,并与空载时的功率值相比较,其差值即为服装耗能。结果表明,服装大小和材质对其功耗影响微小,而服装类型影响较大,其功耗大小影响顺序为西服>运动服>T恤>不穿衣服。     

金属针布快速磨损模拟试验研究

针对生产运转条件下研究针布磨损的一系列问题,本文提出了一种金属针布快速磨损模拟试验的新方法,此法与生产运转条件下针布磨损相似:摩擦副相似、摩擦速度相似和摩擦力相似。用此方法对国产新型低合金钢针布SAC35X、SAC42X与国外Graf、ABK和ECC的某些针布作了快速磨损对比试验,并在七至十天内即可预测针布耐磨度。本试验的结果已被大量生产实践所证实。

服装设计在VAX Station 3100上的新方法及其应用

在计算机辅助服装设计(服装 CAD)领域内,用计算机来进行时装款式、纹样及色彩设计并建立服装图形(款式、纹样及色彩)库是服装工美中一个重要的研究方向,也是当前服装工业方兴未艾的课题。本文立足于服装设计艺术的角度,介绍了 VAX Station 3100超级微机在VMS-windows 操作系统下为服装设计提供的环境及工具,提出并总结了服装款式及纹样设计艺术在该环境下的通用方法——VMS-P 法;并直接利用该环境下的命令给出了建立服装图形(款式效果图及面料花纹图)库的简捷途径。篇末以通用微机在服装上的应用为出发点,将 VMS-P法与手工服装设计法及美国格佰公司的 GCD 法进行了比较。     

Review on the Development of Western and Eastern Garment Pattern Design Technique

Due to different cultural and historical background, the technology in Western and Eastern pattern design is inherently different. Along with the development of technology, garment pattern design technique is making progress towards high effectiveness and accuracy. Many researchers proposed different alternative methodologies to improve the current pattern making processes. This article examines the development of Western and Eastern garment pattern design technique. The main objective of this article is to provide a thorough review and hence a better understanding to those researchers who made contribution on developing pattern design technique and continue their work in the future.
