Muitifractai characteristics of 16-channel human electroencephalogram (EEG) signals under eye-closed rest are analyzed for the first time. The result shows that the EEGs from the different sites on the scalp have different muitifractai characteristics and the muitifractai strength value △α exhibits a kind of interleaving and left-right opposite distribution on scalp. This distribution rule is consistent with the localization of function and the iateralization theory in physiology. So △α can become an effective parameter to describe the brain potential character. And such a △α stable distribution rule on sites of the scalp means a classic cerebral cortex active state. 相似文献

The localization and development of nephroblastoma overexpressed gene (nov) protein-immunoreactive neurons in the brain of E8-P300 rats have been studied using immunocytochemistry and image analysis.
Results are as follows: No NOV protein-immunoreactive cells were detected in the rat brain during prenatal development. A
few of positive cells were detected at the early postnatal stage. However, the number and the immunoreactivity of these cells
increased gradually at later stages. NOV-immunoreactive cells were widely distributed in the rat brain during P30–P60. The
number of immunoreactive cells and their intensity also peaked within this stage. The number and staining intensity of NOV-positive
cells decreased gradually with age. The positive cells were mainly located in cingulate cortex, striatum, hippocampus, hypothalamus,

The effects of salvianolic acid B (SalB) on the mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), calcium, and apoptosis of neurons with cerebral ischemia in mice were investigated using an acute cerebral ischemia model established by ligating the bilateral common carotid arteries in mice. The MMP, the intracellular calcium concentration, and the apoptosis rate of cortical neurons were measured at 6 min, 12 min, 18 min, 24 min, and 30 min after cerebral ischemia by a flow cytometer. The experiments show that SalB increases the MMP and reduces the intracellular calcium and the apoptosis rate at different stages of the cerebral ischemia in mice. The results show that the protective mechanism of SalB on cerebral ischemia enhances the MMP and maintains intracellular calcium homeostasis. 相似文献

To simulate the brain functions, a quantum associative memory combined with information preprocessing by a sparse coding model is presented. The sparse coding scheme is used to simulate the information transformation from retina up to primary visual cortex (V1) along the visual path and the quantum associative memory is used to simulate the pattern processing functions of the brain such as the pattern storing, forgetting and retrieving. Experimental results show that the model exhibits good associative ability on face recognition.
