Interaction of catechins with aluminum in vitro

Tea is one of the most popular beverages, consumed by over two thirds of the world's population; but the aluminum accumulation property of tea plant is becoming the focus of many researches because of aluminum's known adverse effect on human health. Investigation of the interactions of catechins with Al(3+) showed that during the interaction of catechins with Al(3+), the UV-vis spectrum of catechins was changed. Absorption of EGCG at 274 nm decreased and increased at 322 nm; EC and C's at 278 nm changed little. The ratio of Al(3+) to EGCG was 1:1 in pH 5.0 buffer solution; in pH 6.2 buffer solution, the ratio in the Al-EGCG complex was 1:1. Interestingly, while the ratio reached to over 2, after the complex of Al-EGCG started polymerization, the ratio in the polymer was 2:1. In pH 6.2 buffer solution, the complex behavior of C with Al(3+) was the same as that of EGCG, with a little difference for EC. When the ratio of Al(3+) to EC was <1, the complex in ratio was 1:2, but, the complex polymerized when the ratio of Al(3+) to EC was >1. It was found that the ratio of Al(3+) to EC in the polymer was 1:1. Polymerization of Al-catechin complexes might reduce aluminum absorption in the intestine. Kow value was also employed to study the properties of aluminum species in tea infusion (at gastric and intestine pH condition) and the effect of catechins and tea polyphenols on Kow in buffer solution. Results showed that Kow value rose much higher at the intestine pH than at the gastric pH. Tea polyphenols and catechins could greatly reduce aluminum Kow value in acetic buffer, indicating that these compounds may reduce aluminum absorption during tea intake.

Localization for the Non-Invasive Detecting Capsule in GI Tract Utilizing Permanent Magnet and Magnetoresistive Sensors

The paper reports the localization principle and method for the capsule in the non-invasive detecting system of gastrointestinal (GI) tract utilizing one permanent and three magnetoresistive sensors. When the capsule is localized in practice, the permanent magnet is fixed inside the capsule, and the four magnetoresistive sensors are installed outside body. The permanent magnet's coordinate values can be solved by the magnetic dipole theory and optimum iterated method. The experiment shows the localization distance can reach 300 mm by employing the HMCI023 magnetoresistive sensors and the NdFeB45 φ9 mm × 5 mm permanent magnet, and the errors of single coordinate direction and radius vector are 0 - 58 mm and 0.1-62.9 mm respectively. The localization precision is acceptable basically, and it has some possibilities improving the precision and distance in the future. Moreover, the localization system makes the localization be reality because of decreasing the number of sensors, and it economizes the capsule's volume because of decreasing the permanent magnet's dimension, too.

糖尿病视网膜病变的中西医结合治疗

糖尿病继肿瘤、心脑血管疾病之后已成为第三大严重的主要慢性非传染性疾病。糖尿病性视网膜病变（DR）是糖尿病常见且严重的微血管并发症,目前成为眼科主要的致盲性眼病,在发达国家被列为四大致盲原因之一。随着医学科技的进步,糖尿病患者寿命的延长,DR的发病率已逐渐增高。近年来,中西医结合治疗糖尿病视网膜病变取得了较大的进展,现综述如下。     

吸入布地奈德混悬液治疗慢性阻塞性肺疾病急性加重期患者的疗效观察

目的评价雾化吸入布地耐德在慢性阻塞性肺疾病急性发作期(AECOPD)治疗中的临床价值。方法选择2005年5月至2006年2月在本院呼吸内科住院治疗的中重度AECOPD患者84例,分为治疗组(雾化吸入布地奈德1mg+特布他林1.5mg)和对照组(雾化吸入特布他林1.5mg),每组42例,疗程2周,观察患者于治疗前(H0)、治疗开始后24h(H24)、7d(D7)、2w(W2)及6w(W6)的呼吸困难评分、血气指标和肺功能指标。结果1.呼吸困难评分两组在治疗前差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);在治疗后,两组评分均较治疗前下降(P<0.05);两组之间比较:治疗组在治疗后H24、D7及W2评分均较对照组下降(P<0.05),而到W6时,两组差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。2.血气分析⑴PaCO2水平:两组治疗后的PaCO2水平均较治疗前要有所下降,且差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05);两组之间比较:在H24及D7时差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),而在W2及W6时的差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。⑵PaO2水平:两组在治疗后PaO2的提高较治疗前有统计学差异(P<0.05);两组之间比较:只在H24差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),而在D7、W2及W6则无统计学差异(P>0.05)。3.肺功能检测⑴两组在治疗前FEV1、FEV1占预计值%及FEV1/FVC的差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);⑵两组在治疗后各项肺功能指标均较治疗前增加,且差异均有统计学意义(P<0.01);⑶两组之间比较:在H24、D7及W2时肺功能指标的差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);而在W6时,两组肺功能指标的差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论AECOPD患者在规范化的治疗中加用2周布地耐德混悬液雾化吸入后,其在治疗期间的呼吸困难及血气指标改善更显著,肺功能指标提高幅度明显,但随着疗程的结束,患者远期的主观症状和客观指标却与对照组无显著性差异,这说明吸入激素更有助于AECOPD患者减轻气道炎症,从而尽快改善症状和缓解病情。     

局域世界网络上流行病传播的动态行为研究

将SIS（Susceptible-Infective-Susceptible）疾病传播模型应用到局域世界复杂网络上,通过理论分析和数值仿真,详细研究了不同的SIS模型参数（传染率、治愈率）以及局域世界的大小（M）对疾病传播动态行为的影响,根据仿真研究和分析的结果提出了一些可行的控制策略.

回顾20世纪70年代以来逐步形成,并在现实社会问题研究中越来越彰显重要性的批判医学人类学的产生和发展,并解释了在批判医学人类学理论体系下的其核心概念,指出:在人类学的框架内,用批判的眼光解决医疗体制中所存在的问题是非常有意义的;在政治经济发展全球化的今天,致力于建立一个多元文化批判的完整体系可以促使人们更深刻地了解医疗和医疗护理。
