Synthesis of CaCO3 crystals using hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose hydrogel as template

Calcium carbonate crystallization was performed in hydrogel of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose (HPMC). Results showed that the polyhydroxy functionalities in HPMC gel network facilitated the nucleation of aragonite which was not found in experiment without HPMC hydrogel and in experiment using methylcellulose (MC) hydrogel as template. On the other hand, due to the unique assembly of the macromolecules in HPMC hydrogel network, which was different from other hydrogels used in some previous reports, particular crystal morphology, corncob-like CaCO_3, was obtained for the first time.     

珍珠岩制备4A分子筛初探

研究了利用齐齐哈尔珍珠岩制备4A分子筛的工艺,着重讨论了珍珠岩酸处理条件、碱处理、凝胶温度以及凝胶混合物的配比对产品性能的影响,并对所合成的4A分子筛进行了XRD、SEM等结构表征。     

机械球磨方法合成稀土过渡族氧化物

采用机械球磨的方法，为合成稀土过渡族氧化物的固溶体La1-xEuxFeO3提供了新的方法和手段。对球磨合成的样品进行x—ray衍射分析。结果表明：随着球磨时间的增加，合成的效果变好，衍射峰的强度下降，衍射峰越来越宽，粒度越来越小。     

正确认识饮食中的几个营养问题

人们在饮食中存在普遍性的三个营养问题，即：1、有人认为禽畜内脏含胆固醇高，不敢吃；2、有人说吃油和脂会胖，吃水果和蔬菜不会胖；3、盲目补钙，适得其反。用科学的道理阐明了这些认识的错误所在，并介绍了正确做法。     

Calcitonin-like peptide in the shrimpPalaemon serratus (Crustacea,Decapoda) during the intermolt cycle

Summary A molecule immunologically related to salmon calcitonin has been detected in the hemolymph of the shrimpPalaemon serratus. Its concentration varies inversely with the calcium level during the molt cycle; a maximum (14 ng/ml) is found in the post-molt stage and a minimum (0.5 ng/ml) during the premolt stage.     

Cytosolic factors in mitochondrial protein import

In vitro import studies have confirmed the participation of cytosolic protein factors in the import of various precursor proteins into mitochondria. The requirement for extramitochondrial adenosine triphosphate for the import of a group of precursor proteins seems to be correlated with the chaperone activity of the cytosolic protein factors. One of the cytosolic protein factors is hsp70, which generally recognizes and binds unfolded proteins in the cytoplasm. Hsp70 keeps the newly synthesized mitochondrial precursor proteins in import-competent unfolded conformations. Another cytosolic protein factor that has been characterized is mitochondrial import stimulation factor (MSF), which seems to be specific to mitochondrial precursor proteins. MSF recognizes the mitochondrial precursor proteins, forms a complex with them and targets them to the receptors on the outer surface of mitochondria.     

钙阻断剂与肿瘤治疗

抗药性是肿瘤化疗的最大障碍之一,具抗药性的肿瘤细胞药物外排功能很强,而钙阻断剂能抑制抗癌药物从抗药性肿癌细胞排出,导致细胞抗药性减弱,可用于肿囊化疗,有潜在的临床应用价值,但有副作用。故应寻求毒副作用小类似钙阻断剂的其他修饰物以促进肿癌化疗。     

Geographic populations of the medfly may be differentiated by mitochondrial DNA variation

Restriction enzyme cleavage sites of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) from the Mediterranean fruit fly were found to vary among introduced populations in the Neotropics. The survey included samples from 15 established natural populations and 5 laboratory cultures from Hawaii, Central America, South America and West Africa and samples from recent California infestations (1989, 1991). Based on restriction fragment length polymorphisms from 2 enzymes, Hawaii is an unlikely source for the 1989 and 1991 California infestations. Interpopulational variation in mtDNA demonstrates the potential for the technique to trace the process of colonization (geographic spread) by this insect.     

Septation and fragmentation inOedogonium mitochondria as different and independent effects of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) treatment

Summary Oedogonium cardiacum Wittrock, a filamentous green alga, was treated with DMSO. The substance induced active swelling and fragmentation of mitochondria at both 5 and 7.5%. Septa were observed at 7.5% only and were not identical with the fragmentation sites. Thus it is concluded that internal partition by septa is not a prerequisite for mitochondrial fragmentation or division.Acknowledgment.
