The effect of a bradykinin antagonist on vasodilator responses with particular reference to the submandibular gland of the cat

Summary A bradykinin analogue, D-Arg[Hyp³, Thi^{5, 8}, D-Phe⁷]-Bk, antagonized the vasodilator effect of bradykinin injected close-arterially in the submandibular salivary gland of the cat, without affecting that due to acetylcholine or nerve stimulation. The same analogue also antagonized the hypotensive response to bradykinin injected intravenously in cats and rabbits. We conclude that functional hyperaemia in the submandibular gland of the cat is not due to the release of bradykinin by salivary kallikrein.     

Hydrocarbons in tarsal glands ofBombus terrestris

Summary Chemical components of tarsal glands ofBombus terrestris workers were identified by combined gas chromatographic/mass-spectrometric analysis. The 17 components are exclusively saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons.     

Immunocytochemical reaction of a haemocyanin antibody in the midgut gland ofNautilus (Cephalopoda,Tetrabranchiata)

The branchial gland of the dibranchiate cephalopods is described as the site of haemocyanin synthesis. Because there is no equivalent to this organ in tetrabranchiate cephalopods the localization of haemocyanin synthesis remained unknown for a long time. In this study we could confirm the conclusions from prelimnary investigations concerning the copper content of the midgut gland ofNautilus, which gave the first indications for a possible localization of haemocyanin synthesis in this organ. We developed a polyclonal antibody againstNautilus haemocyanin, tested its specificity, and used it on ultra-thin sections of the tissue of the midgut gland. It could be shown that there is a clear imunogold precipitation only on the triangular basal cells in the terminal alveoli. All the other types of cell in this organ were free of any immunoreactivity. It can be supposed that the triangular basal cells in the terminal alveoli of the midgut gland are the sites of haemocyanin synthesis inNautilus.     

大腹园蛛丝腺蛋白二级结构的圆二色性研究

用圆二色光谱研究了大腹园蛛各丝腺蛋白的分子构象、大、小囊状腺体蛋白的分子构象以无规卷曲和β-折替结构为主;而其管状腺、集合状腺、鞭毛状腺蛋白的 CD 谱均显示出有α-螺旋结构的特征。用计算法所得这五种丝腺体蛋白的二级结构中含有6.2%～13.9%不等的β-转角,这对蛛丝蛋白形成独特的结构起着重要作用。还研究了放置时间对这五种丝腺体蛋白构象的影响。     

心力衰竭患者甲状腺激素的变化及其临床意义

探讨充血性心力衰竭患者甲状腺激素的变化及其临床意义。通过对 80例充血性心力衰竭患者 ( CHF)进行治疗前后甲状激素测定 ,并与 30例对照组进行相应比较。发现 CHF患者T3降低 ,且降低程度与心功能分级有关 ,治疗后甲状腺素水平上升。因此 ,甲状腺激素水平可作为心力衰竭患者程度、治疗及预后的参考指标     

唾液腺提取物对小鼠免疫功能及SOD活性的影响

以400mg/kg剂量的唾液腺提取物饲喂小鼠45d,研究唾液腺提取物对小鼠免疫调节作用及SOD活性的影响,结果表明：唾液腺提取物能显著提高小鼠细胞免疫功能和巨噬细胞吞噬功能,并能显著提高红细胞SOD活性和降低血清LPO含量。
