美国瑶族社会文化变迁

20世纪80年代，部分南亚瑶族从老挝、泰国移居美国后，在和西方文化的接触过程中，其社会文化发生了巨大的变迁。根据笔者赴美调查所得，美国瑶族已基本从一个刀耕火种的山地民族演变为从事现代化生产的都市民族。究其原因，社会文化环境和自然环境的改变是美国瑶族文化变迁的根本原因，而美国政府的支持与指导是其变迁的重要因素。     

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF CHINESE AND AMERICAN COTTONS

Thirty-six Chinese cottons were investigated for their physical properties using ASTM stand-ard test methods. Conventional methods using stelometer, fibrograph, and micronaireinstrumentation provided physical properties of tenacity, elongation, length, and fineness. Varietaland regional variations were examined. The Chinese cottons were compared with upland varietiesof American cottons grown across the country. In general, American cottons were stronger, butperhaps a little shorter than Chinese cottons. American cottons were no more mature on the aver-age, and they had lower elongations than did the Chinese cottons. The American cottons alsotended toward higher length uniformity than those varieties grown in China. High yarn strengthwas strongly favored by American cottons.     

玛咖与西洋参缓解体力疲劳作用对比试验研究

目的初步研究玛咖和西洋参对缓解体力疲劳的作用。方法用四批动物,每批70只昆明种小鼠,按体重分成7组,分别给予去离子水,0.040、.4和1.2g/kg玛咖;0.04、0.4和1.2g/kg西洋参,连续灌胃30d后,分别测定四批小鼠负重游泳时间及运动后即刻的血清尿素、肝糖原的含量;运动前、运动后即刻及运动后休息20min的血乳酸含量。结果0.4g/kg和1.2g/kg玛咖可明显延长小鼠负重游泳时间(与阴性组比较P<0.05和P<0.01),0.04和0.4g/kg西洋参能明显延长小鼠负重游泳时间(与阴性组比较P<0.01和P<0.05);3剂量组的玛咖对小鼠血清尿素无明显影响(与阴性组比较P>0.05),1.2g/kg西洋参可显著降低小鼠运动后的血清尿素水平(与阴性组比较P<0.05);3个剂量的玛咖与西洋参均可增加小鼠的肝糖原含量;0.4和1.2g/kg玛咖可降低运动前后血乳酸变化值(与阴性对照组比较P<0.01),各剂量的西洋参对小鼠运动前后血乳酸变化值无明显影响。结论玛咖和西洋参都具有缓解体力疲劳的功能,但两者对小鼠血乳酸和尿素氮的影响不同。     

晚清在华美国传教士的《圣经》汉译

西方传教士的《圣经》汉译在清末民初中国翻译史的第三次高潮期达到顶峰,而晚清姗姗来迟的一群在华美国传教士在所有西方教士中后来居上,他们以独特的翻译手段中西合壁地演绎了西方经典之作《圣经》,其《圣经》汉译的成就无不让他们的外国同行叹为观止,望其项背。     

中国公司法与美国公司法功能之比较

对法进行功能分析就是对法所产生的行为后果在社会整体中发挥的作用进行认识和评价。通过对我国公司法与美国公司法关于治理结构,股东会与董事会的权力及清算责任认定等方面的规定在现实中所发挥的功能进行比较,为完善我国公司法一些粗浅的意见。     

美国高校创业教育的经验及其启示

创业教育需要相应优化的创业机制以及系统完善的创业教育体系。美国高校较早开展创业教育并积累了丰富的经验,已形成了一套比较科学、完整的创业教育教学、研究体系和支持体系,其高等院校创业教育的成功经验与运行模式值得借鉴。     

基于语料库的同义动词搭配研究——以achieve，gain，obtain，acquire为例

分析美国当代英语语料库（COCA）中同义动词achieve，gain，obtNn和acquire及其相关搭配词语的词频信息，探讨本组同义动词与其他词语搭配时在语义和用法方面的差别。以及基于语料库进行同义词研究的可行性方法。     

公平中的卓越：英美英才教育之比较

近些年来，英才教育已成为教育界炙手可热的研究领域。英美两国的英才教育均居于世界领先地位，英国的英才识别技术指南和融合制、美国的专业鉴别测验及三种培养模式对我国的英才教育均有着重要的借鉴与启示作用。     

Tropical cyclones and reproductive ecology of Crocodylus acutus Cuvier, 1807 (Reptilia: Crocodilia: Crocodylidae) on a Caribbean atoll in Mexico

Crocodylus acutus, a coastal species nesting in sand beaches, could be affected by increasing tropical cyclone frequency. We studied key characteristics of C. acutus reproductive ecology on Banco Chinchorro atoll from 2006 to 2009, including the impact of two tropical cyclones. Hurricanes increased canopy openness causing earlier nesting the following year. Crocodiles nested at the beginning of the wet season with hatching in mid-wet season; this could represent a compromise between risking nest flooding and increasing freshwater availability for hatchlings. Tropical cyclones dramatically reduced nesting success by cooling and flooding clutches. Nursery sites were usually hypersaline, but heavy rainfall from tropical cyclones can likely benefit hatchling survival by decreasing salinity. While tropical cyclones have negative short-term impacts on crocodile nesting, they likely have an overall beneficial effect by creating and maintaining open sandy nesting areas used by C. acutus and they may explain its widespread distribution in Caribbean coastal areas.
