Influence of isoniazid and p-aminosalicyc acid on plasma 17-hydroxycorticosteroids in guinea pigs

Zusammenfassung Bei zehntägiger Verabreichung von 1 g PAS/kg oder 100 mg INH/kg peroral kommt es bei Meerschweinchen zu einer signifikanten Steigerung der 17-Hydroxy-corticosteroide. Eine ausgeprägte restimulierende Wirkung wurde im Fall von INH beobachtet. Der Unterschied fiel besonders am fünften Tag auf, wobei nach INH-Gabe die Steigerung zirkulierender Corticosteroide im Vergleich zur PAS verdoppelt war.     

On the possibility of spontaneous tuberculous infection in the course of long-term trials in mice

Zusammenfassung Virulente Tuberkelbakterien wurden in Lunge und Milz von Mäusen entdeckt, die von intravenös infizierten Müttern geboren wurden und die mehr als 2 Monate in engem Kontakt mit den tuberkulösen Eltern lebten.     

Aktivität einiger Transaminasen in den mit SO2 behandelten Erbsen-Keimpflanzen

Summary Fifteen-day-old green pea seedlings were intoxicated 48 h by 1% gaseous sulphur dioxide and in their individual organs the activity of glutamate-oxalacetate (l-aspartate: 2-ketoglutarate-aminotransferase) and aspartate-pyruvate (l-alanine: oxalacetate-aminotransferase) transaminases estimated. The activity of glutamate-oxalacetate transaminase in the intoxicated seedlings was lowered in shoots by 77.8% and in roots by 78,9% as compared with the control plants. The activity of aspartate-pyruvate transaminase was lowered in shoots by 33.5%, in roots by 76% and in cotyledons by 54.5% in comparison with the control plants.

Resumen En los meristemos radicales (en columna) las células hermanas poseen ciclos mitóticos de distinta duration según su positión con respecto al ápice. La célula hermana mâs próxima al ápice posee un ciclo ligeramente más corto que la otra. Se sugiere la existencia de un gradiente de la duration del ciclo desde las células iniciales hasta las células de la región de diferenciación.     

The protective effect of small amounts of selenite in sublimate intoxication

Résumé L'injection de très petites quantités de sélénite de sodium, administrées simultanément ou 1 h après l'intoxication par le sublimé corrosif, en abaisse considérablement la toxicité: les rats blancs intoxiqués par une dose létale de sublime corrosif survivent sous l'effet du sélénite dans un % important et les lésions typiques des reins et d'autres organes n'apparaissent pas.
