Multiplicity of monoamine oxidase in chick brain

Summary The substrate- and inhibitor-related characteristics of monoamine oxidase (MAO) were studied on chick brain mitochondria. It was found that neither 5-hydroxytryptamine nor -phenylethylamine is the specific substrate for type A and type B MAO in chick brain.     

Structural changes of deoxyribonucleoprotein fibres following gamma-irradiation under aerobic and hypoxic conditions.

The DNP fibres gamma-irradiated under aerobic condition showed a reduction of their diameter, while no remarkable changes were observed in the DNP fibres irradiated under hypoxic condition by scanning electron microscopy.     

Effect of air ionization on blood serotonin in vitro

Summary The effect of negative and positive air ionisation on siliconized blood serotonin was studied in vitro. The experiments showed that within 10 min positive ionisation increased serotonin levels in total blood (+40%), plasma (+90%), erythrocytes (+50%) and thrombocytes (+200%). On the other hand, negative ionization (10 min) lowered the serotonin content of total blood (–30%), plasma (–42.5%), erythrocytes (–41.7%) and thrombocytes (–72.3%), thus confirming the Krueger Effect in vitro.This research was generously supported by a grant from the Joint Research Fund of the Hebrew University and Hadassah, and Dr. and Mrs.Leonard Appleby of Palmbeach, Florida.Acknowledgment: Our thanks are due to Mr.B. 人工神经网络及其在气候预测中的应用

利用湛江地区近50年的月平均气温时间序列资料，采用人工神经网络模型建立了该地区的短期气候预测系统，试验结果表明，人工神经网络模型对湛江地区的短期气候具有较好的预测能力，在平均绝对误差（MAE）小于1C的条件下，年尺度上气温的实际预报准确率达到75％，充分显示出神经网络模型在气象业务中极高的应用价值。     

基于粗糙集理论的复方拆方研究

粗糙集理论是一种新的处理模糊和不确定性知识的数学工具，其主要思想就是在保持分类能力不变的前提下，通过知识约简，导出问题的决策和分类规则．因此，将粗糙集理论引入复方拆方，将有助于从复方配伍的动态性和不确定性的本质上去深入而确切地开展方剂配伍规律的量化研究，从而改变药味与药效之间的分离状态．

提高超声C扫描图像分辨率的插值方法研究

根据超声C扫描成像原理,分析了采样间隔对超声C扫描图像分辨率的影响.采用一种基于局部协方差特征的边缘自适应图像插值方法来提高C扫描图像的分辨率,同时将图像局部均方差作为边缘特征判据,使算法得到了简化.该方法根据低分辨率图像的局部协方差估计出高分辨率图像的插值加权系数,能够在放大图像的同时保留图像的边缘特征.试验结果表明,基于局部协方差特征的图像插值方法明显提高了C扫描图像分辨率,并且减小了边缘模糊效应,因此降低了采样间隔对图像分辨率的影响,提高了图像中缺陷分布评价结果的准确性.
