A simple procedure for removal of intra- and extra-tumoral macrophages from primary tumor cultures

Summary Improved growth of tumor cells in primary cell suspensions isolated from solid tumors can be achieved by addition of an antifungal agent, mycostatin, to the culture medium. Mycostatin inhibits the cytotoxicity of macrophages and also quickly detaches phagocytes without any apparent retardation of the growth of tumor cells. This method is particularly useful for obtaining cultures of lung tumor cells or cells from lung metastases of other tumors.This research was supported in part by grants CA-22839 and CA-28482 awarded by the National Cancer Institute, DHEW, USA. Heterogeneity of lactate dehydrogenase in the developing and adultXenopus laevis daud

Zusammenfassung Das Isoenzymmuster der Laktatdehydrogenase (LDH) wurde mittels Agar-Gel- und Stärke-Gel-Elektrophorese untersucht. Unbefruchtete Eier und Entwicklungsstadien vom 2-Zell-Stadium bis zum 15. Tag wurden als Totalextrakte analysiert; vom 15. Tag an wurden einzelne Organe geprüft und bis ins Adultstadium verfolgt. Die Entwicklung der LDH-Muster ist gekennzeichnet durch Zu- und vorübergehende Abnahme der Anzahl Isoenzyme und durch Verlagerungen der Aktivitäts-Intensitäten. Adultorgane weisen 7 Isoenzyme auf mit Stärke-Gel-Elektrophorese und deren 9 mit der Agar-Gel-Methode; dies steht im Gegensatz zu Untersuchungen an den übrigen Vertebraten-Gruppen, die in der Regel ein LDH-Muster von 5 Komponenten aufweisen.

Zusammenfassung Nachweis, dass vor allem atmosphärische Abkühlungsfaktoren Asthmaanfälle auslösen können und dass der menschliche Organismus über einer kritischen Höhe von 1500 m gegen solche Temperaturreize weniger empfindlich ist. Permanente Besserung nach wiederholter Höhenbehandlung.

Zusammenfassung Durch Behandlung mit Glutardialdehyd wirdNaja-naja-Gift weitgehend entgiftet. Einzeldosen bis zu 20 mg pro Kaninchen können ohne Nebenwirkungen injiziert werden. Durch Immunisierung von Kaninchen wird eine gute Antikörperbildung gegenNajanaja-Gift — und vor allem auch gegen die niedermolekularen Toxine — erzielt.     

The structure of tryptanthrin

Zusammenfassung Eine Röntgenstrukturanalyse des Antibioticums Tryptanthrin ergab die Strukturformel I. Tryptanthrin erwies sich als identisch mit synthetischem 6,12-Dihydro-6,12-dioxoindolo-[2,1-b]-chinazolin.
