A noteworthy feature of the living world is its bewildering variability. A key issue in several biological disciplines is the achievement of an understanding of the hereditary basis of this variability. Two opposing, but not necessarily irreconcilable conceptions attempt to explain the underlying mechanism. The gene function paradigm postulates that phenotypic variance is generated by the polymorphism in the coding sequences of genes. However, comparisons of a great number of homologous gene and protein sequences have revealed that they predominantly remained functionally conserved even across distantly related phylogenic taxa. Alternatively, the gene regulation paradigm assumes that differences in the cis-regulatory region of genes do account for phenotype variation within species. An extension of this latter concept is that phenotypic variability is generated by the polymorphism in the overall gene expression profiles of gene networks. In other words, the activity of a particular gene is a system property determined both by the cis-regulatory sequences of the given genes and by the other genes of a gene network, whose expressions vary among individuals, too. Novel proponents of gene function paradigm claim that functional genetic variance within the coding sequences of regulatory genes is critical for the generation of morphological polymorphism. Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) is known to reduce the bioavailability of hydrophobic organic compounds (HOCs) in aqueous environments. This reduction occurs as a result of adsorption to DOC, apparently reducing the freely dissolved concentration of HOCs. In the present study, triolein-embedded cellulose acetate membrane (TECAM) and Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) were used to measure the uptake of acenaphthene and chrysene in the presence of commercial humic acid (HA) at different concentrations (0―15 mg C·L-1) under controlled laboratory conditions. Apparent uptake rate constants for PAHs in TECAM and medaka were compared and DOC-water partition coefficients (KDOCs) of two PAHs were calculated with different sampling methods by model fit. Results showed that HA present in water significantly reduced the uptake of PAHs in TECAM and medaka. The obtained values of log KDOC of acenaphthene and chrysene measured by TECAM were 4.63 and 5.83, respectively, whereas biologically determined values were 4.52 and 5.76, respectively. These log KDOC values were comparable to earlier published KDOCs toward commercial HA, thereby indicating that TECAM accumulated only the freely dissolved fraction of chemicals and uptake PAHs in a manner similar to that of fish. All these results suggested that the TECAM method can provide a good means for assessing the impact of DOC on bioavailability of PAHs in the aqueous environment. 相似文献

In order to select the efficient input variables of adaptive ncuro-fuzzy infence system (ANFIS)during the prediction anthropometric dimenions, grey incidence (GI) analysis, as a mastic method that ranks the sequence of of lots of variables in complicated factors has been applled.According to the prediction accuracy (A) between the predicted values and actual measured values, the ANFISG1 model with the parameters selected by using the GI analysis were more correct and effective than those done by multiple regression model and the model with input parmeters nonelected. 研究了不同沉积电位对电化学生长半导体热电材料Bi2Te3膜沉积过程、膜形貌、结晶性及相结构的影响。利用I-V循环扫描曲线分别研究了纯Bi3 、纯Te4 及其两种离子的混合溶液电化学特性;应用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、X射线衍射(XRD)、电子能谱(EDS)对膜的微观表面形貌、相结构及成分进行了表征。研究表明:生长的样品为斜方六面体(rhombohedral)晶体结构的Bi2Te3,薄膜表面平整致密,为明显的柱状晶结构,具有(110)择优取向;沉积电位越接近还原峰最大电流处,膜的生长电荷效率越高,薄膜结晶性也越好。 相似文献
