Improved area-difference-based recovery information placement

<正> In mobile computing systems,message logging can be used to provide fault tolerance for mobilehosts.Due to the mobility of mobile hosts,their recovery information,including logged messages andcheckpoints,may spread throughout mobile support stations.During recovery,there will be a considerablecost for the collection of recovery information.To speed up recovery and to reduce the failure-freeoverhead,an improved area-difference-based scheme is proposed.It tries to keep recovery informationevenly spreading over an area.Only part of recovery information needs to be migrated for controlling thedistribution of recovery information.To reduce the migration cost,a light-weight migration is also proposed.In the performance study,we give an analysis of the probability that the light-weight migrationtakes place.

据目前所见出土古文字材料,春秋时期新造汉字593个,汉字系统进一步趋向完善和稳定,表意构件系统已比较成熟。汉字构形方式系统进一步调整与优化,表意类构形方式的功能趋向更加衰弱,形声构形方式的优势地位继续加强。汉字字形演变存在省简、增繁、替换和讹变等多种形式,有少数字形经变异后成为定型而进入文字系统传承,不过大多数汉字形体结构相对稳定。汉字的发展演变既表现为时代性的演进,同时又开始形成地域性风格特征。

Effect of intermittent aeration on the treatment performance in a submerged membrane bioreactor

In order to improve removal for nitrogen in a pilot-scale submerged membrane bioreactor (SMBR), intermittent aeration was conducted, and the effect on the treatment performance under four kinds of operation condition (run 1, continuous aeration; run 2, 60/60 min aeration on/off time; run 3, 60/90 min aeration on/off time; run 4, 60/75 min aeration on/off time) was evaluated. The results showed that depending on the specific on/off of the aeration time ratio, removal efficiency of nitrogen could be improved significantly, and the removal rates of total nitrogen (TN) under different operation conditions were 28.0%, 59.5%, 66.8% and 70.7%, respectively. There were no obvious differences for removal rates for COD_Cr and ammonia among different operation conditions. In general, intermittent aeration could be used as a feasible way to improve treatment performance for nitrogen in the SMBR.     

The impact of warrants introduction: Sign effect or magnitude effect?

The data of warrants underlying stocks was selected for the sample period from August, 2005 to December, 2009. These data the authors collected did not include the announcement date of reform of non-tradable underlying shares, and was available from Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges. The event study method is employed to test the magnitude effect based on the Wild bootstrap, which is performed on the abnormal return, the cumulative abnormal return, and the standardized cumulative abnormal return. Empirical results show no evidence of magnitude effect but sign effect after warrants introduction. The authors argue that this phenomenon is caused by the migration of radical agents from stock market to warrant market.

Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Technology: Principle,Representative Technics,Applications, and Development Trends

The rapid prototyping and manufacturing technology (RPM), is an integration of many different disciplines. It is based on an advanced dispersed-accumulated forming principle and originated from 1980s. It generates an entity by first forming a series of layers according to the dispersed section information of the digital model, and then piling the formed layers sequentially together. It is capable of forming parts with complicated structures and non-homogeneous materials. Traditional RPM techniques are mainly used as prototypes in product invention process, such as stereolithography, three-dimensional printing, laminated object manufacturing, and fused deposition modeling. Later, with the progress of material and enabling technology, many new RPM techniques emerged out and have been already applied in the fields such as rapid tooling/moulding, direct formed usable part, nano-/micro-RPM, and biomanufacturing. This high flexible digital manufacturing method has a likely ability to become an almighty forming technology.
