An approximate analytical solution to the ultrafiltration profile in a hemodialysis process between parallel porous plates

In a hemodialysis process, the blood that runs through straight channels exchanges substances with the dialysate through a semi-permeable membrane. The waste products, such as urea and creatinine, are therefore removed from the plasma by the membrane. In the analysis of this process, determination of the ultra-filtration profile along the porous membrane surface remains a difficult problem. In this work, an analytical solution to the derivation of such a profile was detailed, and the feasibility of this solution was discussed. The ultra-filtration profile was found to be in a cosine shape.

A Contact and Non-Contact Hybrid Profilometer with Large Range

A novel hybrid instrument of contact and non-contact measurement with large range is developed, and both measurement systems are based on a Linnik interference microscope and on white-light interference measuring techniques. The ambiguity presented in conventional monochromatic interferometers is not present in the contact and non-contact measurement, and they have a virtually unlimited unambiguous range. For the contact measurement, the vertical measuring range is ±5 mm with a resolution of 1 nm and the horizontal measuring range is ±25 mm in x-range and y-range with a resolution of 1.25 μm; for the non-contact measurement, the vertical measuring range is ~5 mm with a resolution of 1 nm and the horizontal resolution better than 0.5 urn.     

On the Hejek-Renyi Inequality

In this paper we give an elementary and unified proof of the Hajek-Renyi inequality, and get a general version of this inequality which not only covers the all known results but also derives some new results.     

Best weight pattern evaluation based security constrained power dispatch algorithm

This paper presents a methodology which determines the allocation of power demand among the committed generating units while minimizes number of objectives as well as meets physical and technological system constraints. The procedure considers two decoupled problems based upon the dependency of their goals on either active power or reactive power generation. Both the problems have been solved sequentially to achieve optimal allocation of active and reactive power generation while minimizes operating cost, gaseous pollutants emission objectives and active power transmission loss with consideration of system operating constraints along with generators prohibited operating zones and transmission line flow limits. The active and reactive power line flows are obtained with the help of generalized generation shift distribution factors （GGDF） and generalized Z-bus distribution factors （GZBDF）, respectively. First problem is solved in multi-objective framework in which the best weights assigned to objectives are determined while employing weighting method and in second problem, active power loss of the system is minimized subject to system constraints. The validity of the proposed method is demonstrated on 30-bus IEEE power system.     

公示语的特征及其汉译英中的误译分析

随着国际交流的日益频繁,公示语已成为城市的窗口和名片,其规范翻译也更加重要。本文阐述了公示语的定义,从示意功能和文本类型两方面探讨了公示语的特征,在分析英语公示语语言特征的基础上对公示语汉译英中的误译进行分析,以期减少误译、规范译文,从而净化城市语言环境,进一步提升城市的文明程度和国际形象。     

4-(2-吡啶偶氮)-邻苯二酚与Co(Ⅱ)、Co(Ⅲ)显色反应的分光光度研究

合成了新显色剂4-(2-吡啶偶氮)-邻苯二酚(PAPC)，并研究该试剂与Co(Ⅱ)、Co(Ⅲ)的显色反应。在pH=10.5缓冲溶液中，该试剂分别与Co(Ⅱ)、Co(Ⅲ)反应都能生成稳定的红色配合物，其最大吸收波长分别为518 nm和514 nm ,表观摩尔吸光系数分别为5.04×10     

Bafilomycin A1 activates respiration of neuronal cells via uncoupling associated with flickering depolarization of mitochondria

Bafilomycin A1 (Baf) induces an elevation of cytosolic Ca²⁺ and acidification in neuronal cells via inhibition of the V-ATPase. Also, Baf uncouples mitochondria in differentiated PC12 (_dPC12), _dSH-SY5Y cells and cerebellar granule neurons, and markedly elevates their respiration. This respiratory response in _dPC12 is accompanied by morphological changes in the mitochondria and decreases the mitochondrial pH, Ca²⁺ and ΔΨm. The response to Baf is regulated by cytosolic Ca²⁺ fluxes from the endoplasmic reticulum. Inhibition of permeability transition pore opening increases the depolarizing effect of Baf on the ΔΨm. Baf induces stochastic flickering of the ΔΨm with a period of 20 ± 10 s. Under conditions of suppressed ATP production by glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation impaired by Baf does not provide cells with sufficient ATP levels. Cells treated with Baf become more susceptible to excitation with KCl. Such mitochondrial uncoupling may play a role in a number of (patho)physiological conditions induced by Baf.

在实验室条件下用12株外生菌根菌，对马尾松（Pinus massoniana)培养苗进行高效菌种的接种试验，筛选并证明分布于台湾的采色豆马勃（Pisolithus tinctorius)，具有生长快，对生态环境要求不严格，接种成功率大的特点。用能量消失谱技术对细胞内N、P营养元素进行定位测定，表明了这一菌株具有对N、P元素的吸收和贮存能力。     

Revisit the K-segment of the Southeast Indian Ridge for new evidence of hydrothermal plumes

During the first leg of a Chinese research cruise to the Southeast Indian Ridge (SEIR) in 2007, we revisited the K-segment of the SEIR and observed a water column turbidity anomaly at a CTD cast station. This station was located ~400 m from a dredge site on a plume anomaly detected in 1996 by US scientists. The characteristics of the turbidity anomaly detected in our survey are different from those observed 11 years previously, implying that either the detected anomalies have distinct and different plume sources or the robustness of the plume has changed in the intervening time. In addition, turbidity anomalies were observed at two localities on the K-segment in a deep tow-yo profile. If these two anomalies are not connected, the plume incidence calculated would be about 0.28, larger than the predicted value of 0.25 for a 65 mm/a spreading rate. This increase in plume incidence on the K-segment seems to be related to the influence of the St. Paul-Amsterdam hotspot, located about 300 km to the northwest.
