Effect of acetylsalicylic acid on iron absorption in the rat

Summary The in vivo administration of⁵⁹Fe to the rat accompanied by acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) enhanced significantly counts in blood, spleen, liver and femur without affecting those of the intestine. The results suggest that ASA augments iron absorption either via an inhibitory action on the synthesis of prostaglandins or by a purely chemical mechanism.This work was supported by Grant No. 6638 from CONICET (Argentina).The technical assistance of Mrs María E. The localization of several muscle proteins in relaxed and contracted myofibrils is compared. The morphology of the myofibrils and the behavior of these proteins was also investigated under extraction conditions.     

Modification of clonazepam anticonvulsive activity by its association with other anti-epileptic drugs

Summary The modification of the anti-epileptic activity of clonazepam by other anticonvulsivants is studied. The results vary according to the drug and technique used. The usefulness of the 2 techniques employed is discussed.     

Heterogeneity of lactate dehydrogenase in the developing and adultXenopus laevis daud

Zusammenfassung Das Isoenzymmuster der Laktatdehydrogenase (LDH) wurde mittels Agar-Gel- und Stärke-Gel-Elektrophorese untersucht. Unbefruchtete Eier und Entwicklungsstadien vom 2-Zell-Stadium bis zum 15. Tag wurden als Totalextrakte analysiert; vom 15. Tag an wurden einzelne Organe geprüft und bis ins Adultstadium verfolgt. Die Entwicklung der LDH-Muster ist gekennzeichnet durch Zu- und vorübergehende Abnahme der Anzahl Isoenzyme und durch Verlagerungen der Aktivitäts-Intensitäten. Adultorgane weisen 7 Isoenzyme auf mit Stärke-Gel-Elektrophorese und deren 9 mit der Agar-Gel-Methode; dies steht im Gegensatz zu Untersuchungen an den übrigen Vertebraten-Gruppen, die in der Regel ein LDH-Muster von 5 Komponenten aufweisen.

Zusammenfassung Nachweis, dass vor allem atmosphärische Abkühlungsfaktoren Asthmaanfälle auslösen können und dass der menschliche Organismus über einer kritischen Höhe von 1500 m gegen solche Temperaturreize weniger empfindlich ist. Permanente Besserung nach wiederholter Höhenbehandlung.

Zusammenfassung Durch Behandlung mit Glutardialdehyd wirdNaja-naja-Gift weitgehend entgiftet. Einzeldosen bis zu 20 mg pro Kaninchen können ohne Nebenwirkungen injiziert werden. Durch Immunisierung von Kaninchen wird eine gute Antikörperbildung gegenNajanaja-Gift — und vor allem auch gegen die niedermolekularen Toxine — erzielt.
