最佳均值-VAR投资组合问题的研究

（Value at Risk)是一个在当前的金融市场条件下，各种不同的风险测量一个确定投资的获利的重要方法，近年来，套利研究被用来开发这种风险的可行方法，文中提出VAR估计并提出新问题，假设给定一个可接受的VaR，如何确定一组给定证券的组合投资撮大收益，并且同时满足VaR的约束条件，假设市场条件是变化的，如何在保证的投资组合下，在给定的VaR范围内，获得一个投资重组（重新平衡）策略，使其在一系列投资组合中相应的收益最大，为了解决这些问题，采用并进一步开发了一种算法来进行这些投资组合的优化问题。     

Deficiency of fibrinolytic enzyme activities in the serum of patients with Alzheimer-type dementia

Previously we reported that there is a kallikrein deficiency in the cerebral tissue of patients with Alzheimer-type dementia. The present study was performed to investigate protease changes in the serum of these patients. The results showed that the kallikrein activity was normal, but that the activities of plasmin and urokinase were significantly low. The present findings indicate a derangement in the clotting and fibrinolytic systems in Alzheimer patients.     

Adjuvant activity of ricin as measured by Jerne's plaque technique

Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, dass Injektion von Rizinus-Extrakt die Plaque-Bildung im Jerne-Test fördert, was dafür spricht, dass die zytostatische Wirkung des Rizinus mit der Adjuvansfähigkeit gekoppelt ist.

Free fatty acids regulate insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells through GPR40

Diabetes, a disease in which carbohydrate and lipid metabolism are regulated improperly by insulin, is a serious worldwide health issue. Insulin is secreted from pancreatic beta cells in response to elevated plasma glucose, with various factors modifying its secretion. Free fatty acids (FFAs) provide an important energy source as nutrients, and they also act as signalling molecules in various cellular processes, including insulin secretion. Although FFAs are thought to promote insulin secretion in an acute phase, this mechanism is not clearly understood. Here we show that a G-protein-coupled receptor, GPR40, which is abundantly expressed in the pancreas, functions as a receptor for long-chain FFAs. Furthermore, we show that long-chain FFAs amplify glucose-stimulated insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells by activating GPR40. Our results indicate that GPR40 agonists and/or antagonists show potential for the development of new anti-diabetic drugs.

Age distribution of circulatingα-interferon

Summary A sensitive radioimmunoassay showed that circulating -interferon in the plasma of healthy individuals was low in children and reached the highest level in the young adult, then declined gradually with age. Circulating -interferon was 0.201±0.059 ng/ml in males (n=19) and 0.184±0.076 ng/ml in females (n=14) at ages 30–39 years old. It was noted that circulating -interferon was maintained up to a certain level even in elderly individuals.
