Multiplicity of monoamine oxidase in chick brain

Summary The substrate- and inhibitor-related characteristics of monoamine oxidase (MAO) were studied on chick brain mitochondria. It was found that neither 5-hydroxytryptamine nor -phenylethylamine is the specific substrate for type A and type B MAO in chick brain.     

Structural changes of deoxyribonucleoprotein fibres following gamma-irradiation under aerobic and hypoxic conditions.

The DNP fibres gamma-irradiated under aerobic condition showed a reduction of their diameter, while no remarkable changes were observed in the DNP fibres irradiated under hypoxic condition by scanning electron microscopy.     

Effect of air ionization on blood serotonin in vitro

Summary The effect of negative and positive air ionisation on siliconized blood serotonin was studied in vitro. The experiments showed that within 10 min positive ionisation increased serotonin levels in total blood (+40%), plasma (+90%), erythrocytes (+50%) and thrombocytes (+200%). On the other hand, negative ionization (10 min) lowered the serotonin content of total blood (–30%), plasma (–42.5%), erythrocytes (–41.7%) and thrombocytes (–72.3%), thus confirming the Krueger Effect in vitro.This research was generously supported by a grant from the Joint Research Fund of the Hebrew University and Hadassah, and Dr. and Mrs.Leonard Appleby of Palmbeach, Florida.Acknowledgment: Our thanks are due to Mr.B. 日本落叶松人工林生物量及生产力的研究

在长岭岗国营林场调查了日本落叶松人工林林分24块标准地，并测定了单株平均木的各器官生物量，结果表明：应用W=a（D^2H）^b模型来估测日本落叶松人工林生物量，其相关程度达显著水平；日本落叶松人工林单株林木各器官的生物量随年龄变化符合理查德（Richards）生长方程；日本落叶松人工林单株林木生物量年平均生长量在26a时达到顶峰；日本落叶松人工林林分生物量24a时达293．40t／hm^2，生产力为20．78t/（hm^2．a）．     

铁电体的极化疲劳和历史记忆效应

电滞回线是研究铁电性的重要方法,但其中非线性电导,非线性顺电电容等非铁电性的影响难以消除.为此提出了微分电滞回线方法以取代传统的电滞回线.基于该方法,可将回线中各种非铁电性的贡献定量地分离出来,从而得到纯铁电性的贡献.对锆钛酸铅(PZT)和钛酸钡(BST)陶瓷样品的测量结果表明,纯铁电微分回线可用若干个高斯函数精确拟和,铁电体的极化疲劳就表现为高斯函数个数、峰位、峰高、半高宽等参数在外加作用下持续变化.实验还进一步证明,疲劳效应与铁电体所经历的热力学历史密切相关.     

太阳能LED路灯照明系统优化设计

在珠海完成国内第一个太阳能LED路灯示范工程的工作基础上,从路灯光源、控制电路、太阳电池组件最佳倾角确定、太阳电池组件和蓄电池容量确定等几个方面对太阳能路灯进行了设计优化,做到既能保证系统的稳定可靠运行,又能尽量减少系统规模和降低成本.结果表明采用LED作为路灯光源、直接耦合的方式的充放电控制器是太阳能路灯很好的选择,同时通过科学计算的方法对在珠海地区使用时太阳电池组件最佳倾角和组件和蓄电池容量进行了讨论.使用的方法和结论可以为的其他的太阳能路灯设计提供有力的帮助.
