Summary Two off-type plants, morphologically distinguishable from each other and from their respective sister euploid, were isolated in the M3 generation of pea interchange heterozygotes. Pollen sterility was very high, ranging from 63.0 to 90.0%. Cytologically one of them was tetrasomic (2n+2=16) and the other one was quadruple trisomic (2n+1+1+1+1=18). In the tetrasomic plant 1IV+6II was the most frequent (46.7%) chromosome configuration, while cells with 4III+3II were predominant (40.0% cells) in the quadruple trisomic plant.Financial assistance of C.S.I.R., New Delhi, India is acknowledged.  相似文献

Summary The neural tissue of the monkey pineal contains both acetyl and butyryl cholinesterases. Acetylcholinesterase was localized in the cisternae of the nuclear membrane, rough endoplasmic reticulum, on the plasma membrane of the neurones, and on the axolemma of both non-myelinated and myelinated fibres. The enzyme was not found in the axosomatic or axo-dendritic synapses. It is therefore suggested that the pineal neurones have a cholinergic function rather than a cholinoceptive one.This study was supported by the WHO.  相似文献

Summary Retrograde lymphatic permeation of the liver by a malignant neoplasm is an unusual phenomenon and has apparently not been reported with colonic carcinoma. This paper presents such a case; the features of the lesion are similar to those described for other primary sites.Acknowledgment. Hot-dip aluminizing (HDA) is a proven surface coating technique for improving the oxidation and corrosion resistance of ferrous substrates. Although extensive studies on the HDA of plain carbon steels have been reported, studies on the HDA of stainless steels are limited. Because of the technological importance of stainless steels in high-temperature applications, studies of their microstructural development during HDA are needed. In the present investigation, the HDA of AISI 321 stainless steel was carried out in a pure Al bath. The microstructural features of the coating were studied using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. These studies revealed that the coating consists of two regions:an Al top coat and an aluminide layer at the interface between the steel and Al. The Al top coat was found to consist of intermetallic phases such as Al7Cr and Al3Fe dispersed in an Al matrix. Twinning was observed in both the Al7Cr and the Al3Fe phases. Furthermore, the aluminide layer comprised a mixture of nanocrystalline Fe2Al5, Al7Cr, and Al. Details of the microstructural features are presented, and their formation mechanisms are discussed.  相似文献
