Research of Industrial Regions Classification at County-Level

The paper studies some important issues concerning the classification of industrialregions at the county-level by using methods of correlation-principal component analysis and fuzzycluster technique.According to reality it also gives a case study in which the connty-level industrialregional classification is simulated.     

Genetic variation at the alcohol dehydrogenase locus inDrosophila melanogaster: A third ubiquitous allele

Summary A 3rd allele at theAdh locus,Adh ^FCh.D., has been found at polymorphic frequencies in natural populations ofD. melanogaster. The ADH-FChD enzyme has properties distinct from those of the 2 more common forms of ADH. TheAdh polymorphism should now be analyzed as a triallelic system.     

Dopaminergic mechanisms in thiophene-2-aldoxime tremor

Summary Tremor induced by thiophene-2-aldoxime is enhanced or reduced in intensity and duration by agents which respectively interfere with or promote dopaminergic tone.This project was supported by a grant from the Lebanese National Research Council. Effect of conditioned media on nerve cell differentiation

Summary Glial conditioned medium strongly stimulates the morphological maturation of cultured neuronal cells, while fibroblast and meningeal conditioned media have weaker effects.Acknowledgment. We acknowledge the expert technical assistance of Mrs M.F. Knoetgen.     

Frequency-domain study of the mechanical response of living striated muscle

Summary Small-amplitude sinusoidal displacements, in the frequency rang 4–100 Hz, were applied to intact whole frog sartorius muscle whilst in a state of tetanus. At low frequencies the muscle, was observed to do oscillatory work, while at higher frequencies it tended towards elastic behaviour. Frequency-response plots obtained were compared with those from other muscle preparations. Results were interpreted in terms of mechano-chemical transduction properties of muscle.The authors wish to thank the Australian Research Grants Commission for provision of the laser, and L. I.
