Effect of high anodic polarization on the passive layer properties of superduplex stainless steel friction stir welds at different chloride electrolyte pH values and temperatures

The conditions used for friction stir welding of duplex stainless steels determine the resulting mechanical and corrosion performance of the material.This study investigates the corrosion resistance of UNS S32750 and S32760 superduplex stainless steels(SDSSs)joined by friction stir welding,employing cyclic polarization,Mott–Schottky,and microscopy techniques for analysis.The microscopy images indicated the presence of a deleterious intermetallic phase after electrolytic etching of S32760,as well as decreased corrosion resistance.The presence of molybdenum in the steels promoted better passive behavior at low pH.The Mott–Schottky curves revealed p-n heterojunction behavior of the passive oxide.Images acquired after the polarization test by scanning electron microscopy showed higher passivation propensity with increases of temperature and pH.     

稀土Eu掺杂ZnO纳米棒的水热合成及其光学性质

采用水热法合成了稀土Eu掺杂ZnO纳米棒材料,研究了稀土Eu掺杂浓度对ZnO材料的结构、形貌和光学性能的影响。研究表明,Eu3+成功掺入到ZnO中,材料呈现纳米棒状结构且直径为15-25 nm。Eu的掺杂对ZnO材料的结晶质量和光学性能有明显的影响,随着Eu掺杂浓度的增加,ZnO材料的结晶质量明显下降,认为是杂质Eu的引入导致材料缺陷增加所致,而缺陷的改变引起ZnO材料的Eu3+红色特征发光峰增强。另外,随着Eu掺入到ZnO中,紫外峰峰位发生明显的红移现象,认为与引入新的Eu杂质能级有关。     

2-(4-吡啶基)咪唑二羧酸锌配位聚合物的自发拆分

非手性配体2-(4-吡啶基)-4,5-咪唑二羧酸（H2L）与硝酸锌进行水热反应得到组成为[ZnL]n?2nH2O的自发拆分的2种三维金属-有机框架手性晶体,空间群分别为P41212和P43212,其中配位多面体分别为和型Zn(NO)2N三角双锥结构. 两种晶体分别存在着约0. 2 nm宽的不同手性的超微四方孔道,容纳的结晶水分子通过氢键分别形成右手和左手螺旋. 320 ℃以下主体框架保持稳定. 晶体在440 nm左右的荧光发射相比配体增强2倍以上. 该研究对于由非手性原料合成手性多空材料的进一步研究具有积极意义.     

Glutamine synthetase activity in subdivisions of brain of the shark, Squalus acanthias

Specific activity of glutamine synthetase in Squalus acanthias (spiny dogfish) central nervous system regions was highest in the cerebellum and lowest in the spinal cord. The levels of activity may relate to the excitability of each region by regulating the glutamate pool.     

Influence of pinealectomy on corticotropin (ACTH)

Sensory deprivation produced by removing the eyes and olfactory bulbs in male rats allowed pinealectomy to markedly augment the post-adrenalectomy elevation of ACTH levels. Pineal removal or sensory deprivation separately did not have this effect. Thus, intact sensory input and an intact pineal gland are independently capable of restricting the post-adrenalectomy rise in ACTH levels.     

In vitro inactivation of gonadotropin receptors, a membrane-associated action?

Under in vitro conditions the time-dependent inactivation process of LH/HCG receptors is nearly identical in ovarian and testicular homogenates but different in gonadal membrane preparations. In the ovarian membranes the loss of binding sites during the first preincubation time is faster than in testicular membranes, especially in membranes of luteinized rat ovaries. Compared with the homogenates, however, the receptor-inactivation in the membranes is generally delayed. The inhibitory effect of metabolic agents on receptor inactivation indicates that membrane-associated actions are involved in this process.     

Renin in mouse but not in rat submandibular glands

Renin was found in the submandibular glands of male Quackenbush mice in concentrations higher than has been reported for any tissue of any strain or species. However, no renin-like activity could e detected in glands from male and female Wistar rats using either pH 5.8 or 7.4 for assay and a radioimmunoassay specific for renin's reaction product, angiotensin I. Rabbit submandibular glands contained renin.
