Separation of the enamel organ and pulp of mice tooth germs by trypsin removed the basal lamina. Within 18 hours in cultivated reassociations of enamel organ and pulp, a new lamina was deposited. When the epithelial component was cultivated alone, no basal lamina formed.  相似文献

Plants have considerable hydrological and mechanical impacts on soil. However, there are lack of documentation and limited understanding on the hydro- logical and mechanical impacts of tropical legume trees. Therefore, this study was aimed to investigate the hydro- logical and mechanical properties of three selected legume plants, Leucaena leucocephala, Adenanthera pavonina and Peltophorum pterocarpum. Regarding hydrological aspect, the study results indicated that soil on which the L. leu- cocephala was grown had the highest transpiration rate, water absorption rate (WAR) and soil matric suction (SMS). In terms of mechanical characteristics, L. leuco- cephala exhibited the highest root tensile strength and cellulosic components in the root. Interestingly, L. leuco- cephala also showed a higher root biomass, root length and fine roots than A. pavonina and P. pterocarpum. The leaf area index (LAI) strongly correlated with SMS (R2 = 0.74), indicating that high LAI improved SMS. The high root tensile strength and fine roots of L. leucocephala make this species special for growing as a soil reinforcing plant. Overall results suggested that L. leucocephala exhibited outstanding hydrological and mechanical prop- erties and can be a potential plant for the soil reinforcement program.  相似文献

The alkaloid content of the leaves and stem bark of Xylopia ferruginea plant was isolated and tested for its anticorrosion potential on mild steel corrosion in a hydrochloric acid medium by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization measurement, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infra red (FTIR) analysis. The experimental results reveal the effective anticorrosion potential of the plant extract. The mixed mode of action exhibited by the plant extract is evidenced from the polarization study. SEM images proof the formation of a protective layer over the mild steel surface, and this is supported by the FTIR study. The possible mode of the corrosion inhibition mechanism has also been discussed.  相似文献

Poly(3,4-propylenedioxythiophene)/nano-Zinic Oxide(PProDOT/ZnO) composites with the content of 3-7 wt%nano-ZnO were synthesized by the solid-state method with FeCl3 as oxidant.The structure and morphology of the composites were characterized by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis) absorption spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The electrochemical performances of the composites were investigated by galvanostatic charge-discharge,cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).The photocatalytic activities of the composites were investigated by the degradation of methylene blue(MB) dyes in aqueous medium under UV light irradiation.The results from FTIR and UV-vis spectra showed that the PProDOT/ZnO composites were successfully synthesized by solid-state method,and nano-ZnO had great influences on the conjugation length and oxidation degree of the polymers.Furthermore,the PProDOT/5 wt%ZnO had the highest conjugation and oxidation degree among the composites.The results of XRD analysis indicated that there were some FeCl4- ions as doping agent in the PProDOT matrix,and the content of ZnO had no effect on diffraction pattern of PProDOT.Morphological studies revealed that the pure PProDOT and composites had similar morphological structure,and all the composites displayed an irregular sponge like morphology.The results of electrochemical tests showed that the PProDOT/5 wt%ZnO had a higher electrochemical activity with a specific capacitance value of 220 F g-1 than others.The results from photocatalytic activities of the composites indicated that the PProDOT/5 wt%ZnO had better photocatalytic activity than other composites.  相似文献

The kinase pathway comprising RAS, RAF, mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MEK) and extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) is activated in most human tumours, often through gain-of-function mutations of RAS and RAF family members. Using small-molecule inhibitors of MEK and an integrated genetic and pharmacologic analysis, we find that mutation of BRAF is associated with enhanced and selective sensitivity to MEK inhibition when compared to either 'wild-type' cells or cells harbouring a RAS mutation. This MEK dependency was observed in BRAF mutant cells regardless of tissue lineage, and correlated with both downregulation of cyclin D1 protein expression and the induction of G1 arrest. Pharmacological MEK inhibition completely abrogated tumour growth in BRAF mutant xenografts, whereas RAS mutant tumours were only partially inhibited. These data suggest an exquisite dependency on MEK activity in BRAF mutant tumours, and offer a rational therapeutic strategy for this genetically defined tumour subtype.  相似文献
