An improved LP model for energy optimization of the integrated iron and steel plant with a cogeneration system in China

In an integrated iron and steel plant with a cogeneration system, recycled energy is continuously transported into the cogeneration system and the electricity is continuously generated, and both of them could not be stored for a long time. Moreover, the generation and consumption of electricity is irregular, which may bring about more unexpected imbalances. Therefore, it is a crucial issue to schedule the entire energy system by optimizing the operation of energy utilization, which includes the raw energy in the production system, the generation electricity in the cogeneration system and the recycled energy in these two systems. In this paper, an improved Linear Programming model for energy optimization in the integrated iron and steel plant with a cogeneration system is established. The improved model focuses on controlling the whole energy flow and scheduling the whole energy consumption in the entire energy system between the production system and cogeneration system through optimizing all kinds of energy distribution and utilization in an integrated iron and steel plant with a cogeneration system. Case study shows that the improved model offers the optimal operation conditions at the higher energy utilization, lower energy cost and lower pollution emissions.

Constacyclic codes are an important class of linear codes in coding theory.Many optimal linear codes are directly derived from constacyclic codes.In this paper,（1 — uv）-constacyclic codes over the local ring Fp ＋ uFp ＋ vFp ＋ uvFp are studied.It is proved that the image of a（1 — uv）-constacyclic code of length n over Fp ＋ uFp ＋ vFp ＋ uvFp under a Gray map is a distance invariant quasi-cyclic code of index p2 and length p3n over Fp.Several examples of optimal linear codes over Fp from（1 — uv）-constacyclic codes over Fp ＋ uFp ＋ vFp ＋ uvFp are given.

Adaptive Event-Based Consensus of Multi-Agent Systems with General Linear Dynamics

In this paper, adaptive event-based consensus of multi-agent systems with general linear dynamics is considered. A novel adaptive event-based controller and a state-dependent triggering function are proposed for each agent. The consensus can be achieved without the assumption that (A,B) is stabilizable. Furthermore, the Zeno-behavior of the concerned closed-loop system is also excluded under certain conditions. Finally, a numerical simulation example is presented to show the effectiveness of the theoretical results.     

A line search filter secant method for nonlinear equality constrained optimization

<正> This paper formulates and analyzes a line search method for general nonlinear equalityconstrained optimization based on filter methods for step acceptance and secant methods for searchdirection.The feature of the new algorithm is that the secant algorithm is used to produce a searchdirection,a backtracking line search procedure is used to generate step size,some filtered rules areused to determine step acceptance,second order correction technique is used to reduce infeasibility andovercome the Maratos effect.Global convergence properties of this method are analyzed:under mildassumptions it is showed that every limit point of the sequence of iterates generated by the algorithmis feasible,and that there exists at least one limit point that is a stationary point for the problem.Moreover,it is also established that the Maratos effect can be overcome in our new approach by addingsecond order correction steps so that fast local superlinear convergence to a second order sufficient localsolution is achieved.Finally,the results of numerical experiments are reported to show the effectivenessof the line search filter secant method.     

Study on the Centralization Strategy of the Blood Allocation Among Different Departments within a Hospital

By far, the researches on how to distribute blood products among different departments in hospital have not been further studied, though the problem of blood shortage and wastage that caused by improper blood allocation is severe, which may endanger patient’s lives and impose considerable costs on hospitals. In order to solve this problem, this paper mainly studies on how to distribute the blood items among different departments within a hospital and investigates the allocation approach with the novel management method by centralizing the inventory of several different departments. By integrating the blood inventory requirements of some departments, the hospital could reduce the rate of blood shortage and wastage effectively, release the pressure of the occupancy of resources and reduce the bullwhip effect of blood products. This paper illustrates the centralization principle in hospital and formulates the mixed integer programming model to work out the optimal allocation network scheme and the optimal inventory setting for every department. And the results of the numerical example demonstrate that this centralization method could considerably reduce blood shortage and wastage in hospital by about 72% and 90% respectively. Furthermore, it could decrease the total cost by about 108,540 RMB a month on blood supply chain management in the hospital and improve the effect of some certain surgeries by transfusing the fresh blood to patients.     

A line search filter inexact SQP method for nonlinear equality constrained optimization

This paper proposes an inexact SQP method in association with line search filter technique for solving nonlinear equality constrained optimization.For large-scale applications,it is expensive to get an exact search direction,and hence the authors use an inexact method that finds an approximate solution satisfying some appropriate conditions.The global convergence of the proposed algorithm is established by using line search filter technique.The second-order correction step is used to overcome the Maratos effect,while the line search filter inexact SQP method has q-superlinear local convergence rate.Finally,the results of numerical experiments indicate that the proposed method is efficient for the given test problems.     

昆虫窝卵数：现象及其解释

自然界广泛存在生物体产卵成批（窝、块等）现象（如姐妹利间异同、频次分布、季节动态及年间变异）等昆虫系统发育和个体生长（如解剖学特征、个体大小、年龄（产卵顺序）等内因和环境资源（寄主植物、昆虫、温度、水分等）等外因对窝卵数（ｃｌｕｔｃｈｓｉｚｅ）均有一定影响,同一窝卵中的个体受捕食、被寄生、姐妹手足竞争、卵粒大小、个体大小、生殖力、性比等子代适合度因子也受窝卵数大小的影响,本文总结以上各现象提出一关系模型．以较为综合的“窝卵数与继续繁殖间的平衡”假说,从理论上阐述昆虫决定窝印数的机制,并讨论窝印数研究的实际意义。
