Poly(A) associated RNA from mitochondria and microsomes of rat brain

Summary Rat brain mitochondria contain a significant proportion of poly(A) associated RNA which is higher than that found in microsomes from the same source. When steady state poly(A) RNA of brain mitochondria was analyzed by microelectrophoresis, it displayed a characteristic separation pattern with a large amount of free poly(A).     

Influence of cyclic nucleotides on protein synthesis in vascular smooth muscle

Summary The incorporation of leucice-¹⁴C into protein in bovine mesenteric arteries was augmented by cyclic GMP (10^–3 M) and decreased by cyclic AMP (10^–3 M). There was no effect of 5 AMP (10^–3 M). The phosphodiesterase inhibiting drugs theophylline (10^–3 M) and papaverine (5×10^–5 g/ml) both decreased the leucine-¹⁴C incorporation.We are indebted to Mrs.Lena Burlin for hear assistance. Ecdysone 20-hydroxylase from the midgut of the tobacco hornworm (Manduca sexta L.)

Summary An ecdysone 20-hydroxylase enzyme system that converts -ecdysone to 20-hydroxyecdysone was prepared from the midgut of the tobacco hornworm prepupa. This partially purified enzyme is NADPH dependent and is localized in the mitochondrial fraction of the midgut tissue.     

Effect of air ionization on blood serotonin in vitro

Summary The effect of negative and positive air ionisation on siliconized blood serotonin was studied in vitro. The experiments showed that within 10 min positive ionisation increased serotonin levels in total blood (+40%), plasma (+90%), erythrocytes (+50%) and thrombocytes (+200%). On the other hand, negative ionization (10 min) lowered the serotonin content of total blood (–30%), plasma (–42.5%), erythrocytes (–41.7%) and thrombocytes (–72.3%), thus confirming the Krueger Effect in vitro.This research was generously supported by a grant from the Joint Research Fund of the Hebrew University and Hadassah, and Dr. and Mrs.Leonard Appleby of Palmbeach, Florida.Acknowledgment: Our thanks are due to Mr.B. Effect of 723-1723-1723-1on ethanol withdrawal in mice

Summary ⁹ (10 mg/kg, i.p.) administered to mice immediately after withdrawal from a 3-day exposure to ethanol vapor was found to intensify withdrawal reactions. No effect was seen when ⁹ was administered chronically during the exposure to ethanol.     

Octopamine,dopamine and noradrenaline content of the brain of the locust,Schistocerca gregaria

Summary The octopamine, dopamine and noradrenaline content of the brain of the locust,Schistocerca gregaria has been determined using sensitive radiochemical-enzymatic assays. Octopamine and dopamine are present in high concentration but the noradrenaline content is only 1/25 that of octopamine. Both reserpine and fusaric acid (a dopamine--hydroxylase inhibitor) produce a significant depletion of the octopamine stores.The author is a M.R.C. of Canada Fellow. Thanks are due to Drs.A. A. 豫西早二叠世掌蕨Chiropteris Kurr和髻籽羊齿Nystroemia Halle有机连接标本的发现

基于河南登封早二叠世肾掌蕨Chiropteris reniformis Kawasaki和髻籽羊齿Nystroemia pectiniformis Halle有机连接的标本, 确立了肾髻籽羊齿(新组合)Nystroemia reniformis (Kawasaki) comb.nov.营养叶具长柄, 肾形, 基部心形, 全缘或具细齿; 叶脉细, 多次二歧分叉并结为多边形或菱形细网.生殖枝在苞片腋部着生.苞片与营养叶同形.胚珠器官在叶性器官腋部着生或两者分别不规则地着生于生殖枝的轴上.极多的具翼双角籽倒圆锥形, 呈两列状排列, 珠孔朝上.该植物代表了一种新的已灭绝的裸子植物.     

棒状杆菌ps1产生广谱抗真菌活性物质的初步研究

棒状杆菌psl能产生广谱抗真菌活性物质，对其活性物质的抗菌谱、产生条件和部分特性进行了初步研究。棒状杆菌psl产生的活性物质pschl对白色念珠菌、丝核菌、镰刀菌等多种真菌均有强烈抑制作用，并具有良好选择性。活性物质pschl耐热性好，pH改变对其活性影响较明显，酸性环境有利于其稳定但在碱性条件下容易失活。     

海洋枯草芽孢杆菌Bs-1产生多种抗真菌活性物质

从香港清水湾海域中分离到一株能产生抗酵母样真菌和革兰氏阳性菌抗生素的枯草芽孢杆菌菌株Bs—1。对Bs—1产生抗生素条件的研究表明，Bs—1在多种培养基中生长迅速，但只在PDB(马铃薯葡萄糖液体)中产生抗真菌活性物质；活性物质粗提液具有良好的耐热性和酸碱度，121℃加热15min及在pH2和pHl0处理24h仍有相当高的活性；对Bs—1产抗生素的营养条件和影响的理化因子进行了分析；最后用吸附、萃取、离子交换层析和RP-HPLC等技术对此菌的抗菌代谢产物进行纯化，结果发现Bs-1在PDB培养基中发酵时至少产生3种亲水性的抗真菌活性化合物，三在C18反相层析柱上的保留时间差别不大，对HPLC纯化后的其中一种化合物结构的初步分析表明，该化合物含有共轭双键但无任何氨基酸残基，与目前已知的枯草芽孢杆菌产生的抗生素都不相同，很可能是一种新的非肽类抗真菌化合物。     

CHARACTERIZATION OF SOL-GEL-DERIVED ZrO2 FILM BY PHOTOTHERMAL RADIOMETRY

In modern industry,thin film on the substratc has much important role to decide the properties of product, especially for electrical, optical and wear-resistant etc, production. There are some technical methods to prepare thin film,including plasma spray,physical vapor deposition (PVD),chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and sol-gel,etc. Among of them,sol-gel method has been developed a popular tech nique for preparing thin films.
